I'm home
Well, after all the insurance fuss, (with the result that my BP was higher
yesterday than it had been since Monday), my perinatologist felt that it was about as well to go ahead and let me rest at home-although if it goes up much at all, I'm back in again (and then, it's likely that BC/BS won't fight quite as much). We did every test in the book today, and everything looks to be stable-Cuddles is up to 4 lbs 9 oz according to ultrasound, and is measuring between 32-34 weeks on everything, so she's doing great. I don't think either the OB or the Peri are too thrilled with the situation-both feel that things are likely to swing again and that the best chance of keeping it as gestational hypertension and getting as much time as possible is hospital bedrest and monitoring (just going to an OB appointment in the past has caused an increase in BP for several hours afterwards), but that without anything more than my prior history. -- Donna DeVore Metler Orff Music Specialist/Band/Choir Mother to Angel Brian Anthony 1/1/2002, 22 weeks, severe PE/HELLP and "Cuddles", EDD 12/24/04 |

Donna, I don't know what you think about "home remedies" to keep BP down, but you might read the link "PIH in the last 3 weeks" on our website: http://home.comcast.net/~l.mcmahan/. It described what Monika did to fight hypertension in the last few weeks of her pregnancy with Niel, so we could homebirth and not be transferred to a hospital. It worked for us, you might find something useful. Good luck, Larry |

Good luck with things. My niece was only 4 lb 10 (at full term) and she was fighting fit, so it sounds as though Cuddles is doing really well. Cathy |

Oh, Donna! I can't believe all this crap you are going through. You be real
serious about resting now, okay? I'm glad the tests show that baby is still doing so well.
