July due dates

How are all the almost-almost-theres? Knee-deep in childbirth
classes? Waking up a zillion times at night, have to pee more often?
Take some video of those alien-baby-earthquake kicks and tumbles, if you
can catch them. Any belly hiccups? Those are the best. How's life
generally treating you these days? Updates, vents, rants, complaints,

Hi my name is renae I am due on july 4th. I am from australia and i have
been lurking in this newsgroup for a while now. I have finished my
childbirth classes, here they like you to be finished about a month before
your due date. I found the classes to be informative, my husband really got
into them too.

YES. It takes me ages to get comfy, then just as I do i have to go to the
toilet so I am real careful gettin out of bed not to loose the comfy spot.
I get backin it takes ages to get comfy AGAIN then I have to pee AGAIN...

Belly hiccups! they seem to happen all the time and for ages I was beginning
to wonder if it was normal to happen so much..

Life is pretty much treating me well I really cant complain, I have put on 5
kilos all up. I think i am carrying towards my back cause my belly is not
that big, I am really just now feeling a little uncomfortable. I start my
weekly appointments at the hospital this week, they will do the normal
checks. I dont think I will have anymore scans now they say everything is
normal. Here we only have one scan and thats at 18 weeks. Now we just have
to decide on a name! will keep you posted!

Can't complain too much! I do wish the nesting instinct would kick
in, I've got a bunch of stuff I'd like to get done in the next
7 weeks or so. We took a refresher birth course (based on Birthing
from Within) which was very good, given by our doula. Since I'm
trying for a VBAC, it was good to work through some of the issues
I have left from DD's birth. Two of the couples in that class gave
birth before our last class, two girls!

We are having lots of movement, which is great. No hiccups yet,
which surprises me, since DD had tons of them. I can't sleep
worth a darn, which just exacerbates the tiredness. I think
DD is starting to get the idea that a baby is coming. When I
drop her off at daycare, the other kids are starting to ask
"Do you have a baby in there?" and "Can I see it", um...no...

All in all, doing well. Starting to get excited.

Getting freaked out that we're almost there! Lol.
I'm actually doing great cos I'm childfree for a week! The Dr did not
recommend I go to MI (from NC) for Dylan's grandfather's 85th birthday party
so Dylan took all 3 kids BY HIMSELF last Wednesday!! We still have a car
snafu so I've rented one for Mon, Tues, Wed to get out and about - go to the
"big mall" a town away, get my hair done, a pedicure, etc...Wheee!

Ugh, I've got a million ultrasound photos from my specialist visits. I hope

Heartburn is here, had forgotten how that was. My feet and legs don't feel
too great. They feel kind of tender I guess. Also my skin is freaking
out - eczema in my elbow is back, and my scalp (stress-induced), a rash on
one calf, hands are puffy, wedding ring is off. One plus - haven't gained
too much this time - about 26 lbs at my last appointment (I had 10 extra on
me to begin with) - I can live with that.
I had a baby shower a couple of weeks ago, so all that stuff is organized.
Now I really feel like I'm just waiting.
We do have a month of summer camp for Patrick, a week of cheerleading camp
(shoot me now!) for Charlotte, Father's Day, Charlotte's 6th birthday,
Dylan's 30th, and July 4th before then though. Busy, busy.

Lewis' daycare ladies think he gets the idea something big is happening.
He's only 2.5 so I don't know. But he goes to daycare in the same room as
Patrick and had been loving it. The last couple of times he's gone he's
cried when I drop him off and they tell me all throughout his time there he
cries off and on, is very clingy, which is not Lewis at all. I guess they
pick up on things more than we think.

Oh, definately. Emma is 3 (just turned) and she's started to
get much clingier. Plus she wants me to carry her all the
time (which is quite new, she usually wants to walk by
herself all the time).

Her daycare teachers have told us to expect her to regress
some.

This is different for me cos this is my biggest age gap. C was only 16
months old when I had P, and P was only 25 months old when I had L. So I
don't think they noticed, changed, or cared - lol.

I carry L all the time anyway (he can't be 25 lbs), to me it's easier than
having to chase him when he runs off, as he *always* does anyway - lol.

The other kids never cared if I held a baby, L will try to push it off my
lap, stuff like that. We already don't think he'll be too thrilled to not
be the baby anymore.

Jayan regressed some when Leopold was born. She had just turned 2.5
when he was born. Mainly she wanted us to recognize that she was
still our baby, and that Leopold wasn't the only baby. This happens
on and off even now -- 5 months later.

Most of the time though, she is proud to be a big girl and a big
sister. She had interest in the potty before Leopold was born but she
only wanted to use her nappy after. She asked for Pull-ups last
night. She told me that she wanted to use the potty instead of
nappies. So this too shall pass...

We just finished ours about 10 days ago and took the hospital tour, asked
questions, got more ideas to put in the birth plan. All in all it was a
good class.

Oh yeah...but I can't help drinking all that water. I think it averages out
to about 5 gallons/week. I drink several liters per day.

My belly moving just cracks me up. I'm waiting for an alien to pop out. No
hiccups though.

We went to the hospital the other night as I was in so much pain while
breathing from what felt like a pulled muscle in my ribs. Basically, it was
an inflammation of the soft tissue around my sternum and ribs. Tylenol,
rest, and some icing was recommended. Its been much better since then. I
had no idea what was going on. I have been very active for the past two
weeks, and I think that exacerbated the issue.

Overall, I am looking forward to this little being in my belly who is making
me laugh.

DS was 2.75 when dd was born, and he definitely understood what was
going on. The cat at daycare had just had kittens, so I think that
helped. But, he's definitely having adjustment issues...

having to chase him when he runs off, as he *always* does anyway - lol.

Yesterday, I went to the Botanic Gardens with both of them, with the
sling and the single stroller. Mostly, ds walked, and dd was in the
sling or stroller. But near the end, he decided he wanted to go home,
but didn't want to walk or ride in the stroller. Finally, he asked me
to carry him. So, I took dd out of the sling, put her in the
stroller, and carried 40 lb ds to the parking lot!
