how allergenic are these foods?
I have some jars of baby food that don't show up on my lists of
commonly- and rarely-allergenic foods. Do any of you know how allergenic these are? (OK to eat now at 9 months, wait until a year, wait until adulthood...) green beans prunes peas spinach potatoes We're being fairly cautious about allegies (family history) but so far everything's been fine. -- Sara, accompanied by the baby barnacle I check this e-mail account infrequently |

I got it from this group a while back. We don't have a real family history of food allergies, but I generally followed the sequence listed, if not the absolute ages. Some things I did not follow, such as I gave him green peas much earlier in the sequence. It was a helpful list though, and lists more food than some other sources. http://www.hallpublications.com/title2_sample2.html Jennifer mom to Jacob 9/27/02 |

They sound like pretty safe starter foods. I can't recall anyone IRL that was allergic to them. BRandy |

Thanks (and thanks to the other people who responded, too). -- Sara, accompanied by the baby barnacle I check this e-mail account infrequently |

I have heard something, somewhere about peas :-) I gave most all those things as first foods. I think potatoe is a common first food. The green beans and spinach did not stay in but other then that, no problems :-) -- Nikki Mama to Hunter (4) and Luke (2) |
