red spot near pupil of new born

Hello :
My wife delivered a new baby boy on Jan 22. He was quite health and
everything went well. I just noticed one thing. In his right eye just
near his pupil, he has a reddish spot. It is not perfectly round but
it is there. I am very worried. We have regular checkups every week
but I couldn't wait till next visit so I thought this is a way to see
if anyone has any answers.Spot is visible only when you really concentrate

Are you saying then that the spot is on his iris?

It's probably a tiny scleral hemorrhage, a very common finding in
newborns, especially those delivered vaginally. I wouldn't lose my
mind about it, but if it continues to concern you, bring it up the
next time you take your boy to his pediatrician.

It sounds like a ruptured blood vessel. If that is what it is then it
is nothing to worry about. But definetly ask your doctor about it,
just for peace of mind.
