Default Tailbone pain- is this birth related?

My little girl is 7 months old. I had an easy delivery-6 pound baby,
18 mins of pushing, 2nd degree episiotomy.

When she was 4 months old, I went to visit my brother and his new baby
girl, an hour's flight from my home. That weekend is when I realized
that my tailbone is really sore! I wonder if it is related somehow to
the pregnancy or birth. I think it took me 4 months to notice it
because it was the first chance I'd had since delivering to spend any
length of time sitting down!

What do I do about this? I am about ready to get my doughnut pillow
out again! the hospital where I delivered has a physical therapy
program for pregnant/new moms, but it is an hour from my home. Do you
think this will just go away in time?

Amanda, mom to Aaron 3.5 yrs and

Is the bone itself sore or is it your skin? It could be the start of a
pilenital cyst on your tail bone. I am sure I spelled that wrong but anyway
if it is that then it needs to be removed/lanced by a dr. It may be worth
calling and inquiring about. From what I understand the longer you have
this the larger the cyst cavity is and the longer the healing time is!

My tailbone was definitely sore from Jaden's birth, maybe Julie's too,
but I don't remember as clearly from her birth. If it was, it was less
significant than other things going on at the time. But IME it started
right from birth, and was gone by 4 months, not starting then and going
on for another 3. I would think it ought to be gone by now and you
might want to just get it checked out or call and talk to a nurse about
it.
