bugs bugs everywhere
The crumby old window in my office constantly opens a crack due to the
vibration of the air conditioner (we haven't bothered with central yet and are just using room units), and consequently, a lot of bugs sometimes make their way in. Well, last night, I was sitting here minding my own business when this really odd but familiar looking bug swooped by. I looked at it a few times and couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. Then, suddenly, it flew straight towards the light, and when I looked at its body as it was flying, something seemed blazingly different. The light went on (in my head, heh heh), and I realized that it was a firefly! I hadn't seen one in a few years, at least! I found myself wishing, right then and there, that my baby could see it. I will have to make sure that, when my kiddo is old enough, we go firefly hunting (well, we won't really hunt them - we'll just go looking for them). Sorry about the weird OT post, but lately I've been finding myself feeling sad about almost everything I see because I can't share anything with the baby, yet. I think I'm finally suffering from weird hormonal shifts that are actually affecting my mood. ;-) |
