28 week checkup
I did the dreaded GTT first, and since there wasn't a policy stating I
had to sit for the hour, I went for a walk. I got to meet a different midwife and we talked over some issues, like I didn't know Kaiser policy on cord clamping. I turns out they are willing to wait until it stops pulsing, or at least some reasonable amount of time. And this midwife echoed the other that the OB episiotomy rate was low, so I'm finally starting to relax about that. I think she could tell I was nervous, so she wrote it in the chart too. Heartrate was fine, measurements all normal and no protein in the urine. All in all a straightforward checkup for 28 weeks. I don't go back until 33 weeks. She asked about kickcounts and I admitted that I don't put little marks on the card but I do make sure that once a day I feel him move. This is definitely not a problem. He's active at least in the mid-morning, afternoon and around 2 or 3am! Carolyn ds #2 due 2-16-04 -- Carolyn Fairman http://www.stanford.edu/~cfairman/ |
