Constant thirst
Lu-lu, have you got your little one's drinking sorted out? A couple of thoughts I had a How many calories is she getting per day from food and drink? She may need more calories than she is getting, and she is trying to get them in drinks. If that's the case, instead of giving more water, give full fat milk or even milk with added cream or cocoa or chocolate syrup or malt. Also good is full fat yoghurt drinks, and sweetened mango pulp with ice cream (lassi). Or, feed her more easy-to-eat snacks along with her drink. If too much of her fluid consumption is plain water, keep an eye out for water intoxication on the one hand and insufficient electrolytes on the other. Pologirl |

Their new thing is that you now have to call up at 8am to make pre-bookables as well as emergency appointments - they told me this at 10am. Yesterday, at 9am, I'd called too early. Monday, at 10am, I had the option to come down at 5pm to sit and wait as I'd left it too late. Last week, I could call from 8.45 for an emergency or after 10am for a pre-bookable. My last surgery was the same. What gets me, is that whatever time of the day you call, they're fully booked - what I want to know is how the hell the other patients are booking up all the slots! Lucy, I haven't seen an update from you, so I hope that you managed to get in to see the GP and that everything was OK. But I'd also really like to recommend that you write to the practice and explain that this happened, because it sounds as though they need to review their booking policies.
