Default Car seat/Booster question

We need a new car seat/booster for Bonnie. She is about 30 lbs now. I
would like something to go up higher then 40 lbs without needing a sholder
strap in the car.. our Van does not have them. Xavier is definatly going to
be needing something that goes above 30 lbs so whatever I get for Bonnie
will eventualy be used by Xavier I am thinking.

so you need something held by the lapbelt & with a 5 point
harness?
Boo has a Graco carseat in my CR-V (no latch). it's good to 60
pounds, & he's 4.5 years & 33 pounds, but i really have never
liked it. it was replacing a Britax (that i messed up the cover
on). i'm seriously considering getting another Britax before our
summer travelling starts (we go 800 miles every other weekend to
NY) because they're just SO much better as far as ease of
install, use & especially comfort (ever try sitting in a car
seat? there's NO padding. it's like sitting on a lumpy rock. no
wonder kids hate them)
anyway, the Britax convertables & youth seats go up to 60
pounds & 49".

It's expensive, but we got the Britax Marathon for DS when he was first
born. It is rated to go up to 30 lbs (maybe 33 lbs) *rear-facing* and up to
65 lbs forward-facing. My guess is that DS will be in that seat until the
2nd grade
