weight gain following weaning
Hi,
I weaned my 26 month old, one month ago, and ever since I just keep on putting on weight. My weight is normally very steady and I never gained weight when I weaned my middle son at the age of 2. (I was pregnant when I weaned my oldest). Does anyone have any ideas why I'm gaining so much weight (I took a pregnancy test, negative, so it is not that), Thanks, Helen |

I found that whilst I needed extra to breastfeed, I also couldn't drop below a certain weight, which was a bit higher than my natural weight, I've seen that in other people, they maintain a little extra fat during breastfeeding and loose it when they stop (assuming they are eating well and exercising throughout) Anne |

Then I just start gaining and it takes me a while and quite a bit of effort to stabilize. If you weren't yet ovulating when you weaned, you could be experiencing the same kind of thing. --Betsy |

Maybe it will stabilize hormones a bit? Helen |

Since the normal pill hormones tend to lead to weight gain when you start it, I wouldn't bet on it. --Betsy |
