Default Level II U/S update

I'm glad you had such a great u/s! Congrats on having a girl.

That was cool that the tech warned you about the doc.

Background: I had my regular 18 week ultrasound two weeks ago and the only
thing the tech found were bilateral choroid plexus cysts. One was quite
large, and the other was quite small. I scheduled a Level II u/s and had

my
quad screen done.

I had my Level II done today and am happy to report that as I expected,
every thing was perfectly fine. The larger cyst is much smaller and the
other one is completely gone. Not a single other thing was found so I feel
pretty great.

The tech confirmed that it is without a doubt a girl. She got some very
clear shots and it was obvious even to us who don't know heads or tails.

I'm
going to go ahead and give the painter the heads up to put that second

coat
of lavender on her walls.

I had a great tech, too. She warned me ahead of time that the doctor who
would be seeing me was dry as toast and not to assume that silence meant
anything bad. Boy was she right. He made such a big production over

getting
ready for the u/s. Cranking up the bed, cranking down his seat, unwinding
and draping the transducer cord over his shoulders, *gobs* of gel,

*sighing*
and shaking his head because the baby was moving around too much...he was
kind of obnoxious. I'm glad the tech warned me, because I think I would

have
freaked out otherwise.

They told me my quad screen came back fine. I have a 1/over 5000 chance of
Trisomy 18 and a 1/over 1500 chance for Trisomy 21 (Down's) He said that I
could have the amnio, but the risk of amnio is greater than the risk of
either Trisomy's so he wouldn't recommend it, but it's my choice. No

amnio,
please.

They do want me to come back at week 25 to check the cysts, but I'll be
away in NH for the summer so I think I'll probably cancel it. I made the
appt. just in case since I tentatively made a hair appointment for that

week
just in case I happened to be home. If I need my hair cut, I'll get that
u/s, lol. I don't mean to sound so cavalier about it, but I'm just not
worried.

Anyway, it was a good appointment.

Glad to hear it went so well Jenn! I am STILL waiting for the final

results
of my nuchal translucency ultra screen (the blood part was due in today).
*GRUMBLE* I'll have to make time to call tomorrow at work in between
patients.

I saw your results today! Great news!
