I have been tested for Group B Strep. I
have been searching the internet looking for general information
about this bacteria but have been able to find very little so far.
Can any one sterr me in the right direct or share with me some
general info about this bacteria? Most importantly at what point
is it normally treated and how?

I tested + during my 2nd pregnancy. It was causing me to have an irritable
uterus so I was given 10 days of antibiotics, which did nothing.

It's treated during labor with antibiotics in an IV.

During future pregnancies you'll be treated as if you're +. Apparently
something like 40% of pregnant women will test + for GBS at any given time.
It's something that comes and goes though - you could be tested later and
be -.

Not a big deal if your Dr knows about it. If you don't know the baby can
get meningitis and die.

Meningitis is a worst case scenario and can happen with or without
antibiotics in labor (though it is less likely) and whether or not you
know you have group b strep present in your vaginal flora at the time
of delivery.
