Liar and defender of the evil actions of the FDA. Neither Mark nor myself are professional news paper writers. I am glad the FDA is doing its job to keep the food supply, including supplements, much of which are made in China, safe. Jeff The fake supplement industry is worth $billions because most people believe anything they read on the screen or in print. Thank God for the FDA. Robert Imagine being thanking for evil people with their evil actions. Yet this is an example of the FDA safeguarding people from supplements that don't work. The love of money is the root of all evil. Right. But certainly the supplement industry is in business only to provide wholesome products. Companies like GNC are in business only to provide good quality, Chinese-made supplements to consumers. They give *all* profits back to charities and keep their prices as low as possible. Why would anyone in their right mind approve of the FDA rushing through the passing of drugs, the adverse effects of these drugs so so readily passed. Then there are those who lost their lives. Sad, very sad the *gang* approves of the actions in this true story of the FDA. Congratulating the FDA on doing some things right is not the same as endorsing all their actions. Someday you may have he need to take supplements. Then you can eat your words. And hopefully, the FDA will get authority to police the supplement industry properly, so that the supplements have what it says on the label in them and the claims on the label will be accurate. Many were conducted using armed agents wielding assault rifles and automatic weapons, dressed in body armor. All of them were intended to destroy natural medicine, thereby protecting the profits of drug companies and conventional medicine practitioners. snip hyperbole, confabulation, and a whole bunch of outright lies It sounds like the Department of Justice & FDA have been doing a good job protecting the public from liars, scam artists, and dangerously naive thinking. I like that. Simultaniously, the US gov't is providing money for research into Complimentary & Alternative medicine. Heck, the NIH give its blessing to Acupuncture in 1997. Yes, it seems they are doing a very good job of separating the wheat from the chaff! Here's a warning letter they wrote the wacky Joe Mercola: http://www.fda.gov/foi/warning_letters/g6034d.htm This is the true history of the FDA that the FDA doesn't wan't you to know! http://www.fda.gov/opacom/hpview.html And who supports the FDA? Pharmaceutical companies, medical associations, doctors, medical journals, hospitals and numerous corrupt Congresspeople and Senators. By supporting the FDA, they condone the use of terrorism tactics against the American people and, ultimately, support the continued use of police state tactics against innocents. I don't know what is more comical, the hyperbole or the morons who buy into it. You can learn more about the true history of the FDA and Big Pharma in my tell-all book, Natural Health Solutions and the Conspiracy to Keep You From Knowing About Them. Its such a broad, sweeping conspiracy that anyone can order a copy! Here is an excellent analysis of Mike Adams, health STRANGER. http://tinyurl.com/2mdx4t |

Prior to the FDA raid, they were funding a number of independent scientists engaged in research to understand and slow the aging process. I recall an old John Campbell editorial on the FDA in _Analog_ around thirty years ago called "Crackpots in Government"; it's eerie how the FDA fulfilled his expectations. |

Jan, honey, you might want to look into the real facts before you
just cut and paste the rantings of conspiracy theorists, who themselves have merely cut and pasted the rantings of other conspiracy theorists, without actually corroborating the supposed "truth" of something these mongrels type. Virtually every "fact" presented by Mr. Adams is a complete distortion of the truth. I'll only bother to give you the "facts" about two of the examples he gives. 1) 1990 - The El Cajon pet food store raid In 1990, FDA agents did not "raid" or "ransack" the "pet food store of Sissy Harrington-McGill, a 57-year-old pet lover." in 1990, the FDA conducted a lawful inspection (see 21 USC 374, which authorizes the FDA to inspect any facility manufacturing or holding food, including pet food) of the warehouse of "Solid Gold Pet Foods," an international business with several million dollars a year in sales, which is owned by Ms. Harrington-McGill. Solid Gold and Ms. Harrington-McGill had previously been sued by FDA for selling "pet food" which the company purported would cure and treat disease in animals; such claims make the products animal drugs under US law, and are not allowed to be sold until the manufacturer provides the FDA with evidence that the drug is both safe and effective for the disease or medical condition it claims to treat. Ms. Harrington-McGill had signed a voluntary consent decree in 1989, promising not to sell "pet food" with such claims anymore, and that consent decree was entered in court that year. during the 1990 inspection, FDA discovered that Ms. Harrington-McGill was completely igoring the consent decree she had entered into, and was selling the very same products with the very same claims that she had promised, under penalty of imprisonment, not to sell. the FDA then went back to the court that had signed the consent decree, and asked the court to find her in contempt of court for violating the decree. Even Ms. Harrington-McGill agreed that she was selling these products in spite of the consent decree; she merely argued that it wasn't fair that she had to stop selling these animal drugs. Ms. Harrington-McGill was NOT "later tried and convicted of violating the Health Claims Law, a law that did not exist at the time of the raid and was never passed by the U.S. Congress." She was found in Contempt of Court for violating her promise to the court not to sell these animal drugs. In short, she was convicted of selling illegal animal drugs after promising a court that she would stop selling illegal animal drugs. 2) 1990: The Century Clinic "chelation" raids. "No charges were filed." is a very misleading statement. Century Clinic was sued by FDA, and Century Clinic ALSO signed a consent decree promising to stop using quack drugs and devices in their practice. several years later, they were caught again using quack medical devices, and the FDA fined them pursuant to the terms of the consent decree. Century appealed the action all the way to the US Supreme Court, which upheld the FDA determination. Isn't it funny how all these clowns "were forced" to sign consent decrees, plead guilty to crimes, etc., depsite their "innocence?" please stop being gullible. educate yourself rather than just believing every crazy conspiracy theorist with access to a computer and a $4/month server on which to post any lie that runs through their mind.
