Oy VEY: More lost and found stuff
Today, after all the trauma of the past month over the lost and found issue,
I got my bimonthly newsletter from my DD's middle school, and what should be smack dab in the middle of it, from the principal himself? "Our Lost and Found in the cafeteria is overflowing with articles of clothing. We will be putting these things out for students to retrieve in the next two weeks leading up to the February break. Any items not picked up will be donated to charity. " And people wonder why I'm constantly hitting my forehead in disgust. If a man in his late 40's can't learn, how does he expect the kids to learn? |

But this is substantially different from before. He isn't offering to let students take what they want. He's asking them to "retrieve" items. Retrieve means to get something back, to regain what you had. In other words, he's only warning students that they need to get their own stuff out or it will be donated to charity. What he should have done in the first place , IMHO. Bizby |

But this is what our school does and I don't understand what the problem is. He is not telling them to take what is not theirs like what was previously thought. He is saying retrieve your items or they will be donated. I see no problem with this at all. -- Sue (mom to three girls) |

It would make it easier to understand then why the kids were accused of stealing. Bizby |
