Breastfeeding legislation - Australia
Do any of you know if the right to NIP is protected by legislaiton in
Australia, similarly to the way it is in the US? And just what does the US legislation say? I didn't really NIP much with Matthew but am planning on taking #2 to restaurants, etc, and was wondering if my right to feed this child anywhere I want is protected. It's just that the other day I mentioned that I planned to bring #2 to my husband's birthday lunch at a restaurant and a friend commented that I won't be able to stay long. To which I asked her why and she said that I'd only be able to breastfeed "if they let you". Is she right or is there Australian legislation that won't let the restaurant turn me away? Well, never mind - I've googled it and answered my own question. For the curious: http://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/bfinfo/out.html So I will breastfeed my little one whenever and wherever she gets hungry! Engram |

Though we're glad it's protected here in our state, my European husband is constantly amazed that it even needs to be! |

Engram That's where I'd tell you to look for info in Australia on NIP..... gotta love the ABA Basically anywhere that you are legally allowed to be is fine. Its covered under anti-discrimination laws. Amanda |
