When my ex and I encountered a blocked sidewalk, it was a real pain with his wheelchair. That said, I've always thought the civilised thing to do was to speak directly to the person about the issue, 'cause often no harm was meant. It's a lot better to do that than to run 'round ratting behind people's backs to the authorities, IMO. Sheesh. It's hard for me to believe because that's all I EVER do, it seems. We don't have a driveway of any sort, buuuut... When I go to my parents' place, we squeeze as many cars as possible into their drive way. My mom has a little itty bitty Hyundai Accent, my dad has a tiny Volkswagen Jetta. He'd park his Jetta on the grass beside my mom's car so he could plug in his car in the winter without needing 9283.8' of extension cord. (Alberta winters + diesel engine cars aren't really friends lol) No kidding. I'd like a diesel, what with the price of gas, but I never got one last time because I was in Whitehorse when I bought it, and diesel and cold weather just don't fit together. I'd often just park right up behind both cars, which were side by side pretty much, and there was more than enough room for me (I have a tiny Jetta as well)... Now that it's warm out and there's no need to plug cars in, both parents' cars are parked in the drive way, my dad's truck takes up the good spot parked on the street and I don't usually want to park far from the house, so I pull right in behind the 2 cars already in the drive way, and when I pull up right to the bumper of the car ahead of me, sometimes even roll and tap the bumper just to be sure I'm as close as possible, I still stick out maybe about 1/2-1/3 of the way on the sidewalk! I do this all the time... I guess I'm just a big jerk, but I figure people have eyes and can walk around or even live with it. lol If they can walk. :-) Also, aren't those oldest girls' boyfriends nice? I'm that oldest girl in my family, and I know Norm often does a lot when it comes to things like moving things and just random little things that need to be done, and supper is always a nice treat at the end of a day of yard work, or whatever it may be! My daughters' boyfriends have been very handy to have around when moving has been needed! :-) If your little rat happens to escape, do you want to get angry and find a new home for it? lol I think rats are so cute. We have no rats in Alberta, but I'd like to (risk jail? and) bring some over. Sure you do. My Mom once dated this guy, Michael Litnaitsky (sp)??, who was a lawyer, who moved to Alberta, and was convicted of embezlement and went down for eight years..... LMAO Oh! Not THAT kind of rat...... [g] Gaia is a cool name. I've heard that name before... Maybe a friend's friend or something. It's very different! It's the name for Mother Earth, the living organism. I even have a song about her. :-) We just got ourselves a little chinchilla. Oh! I don't know what they're like? Are they friendly? Norm spent Saturday helping me build a big cage for him and we bring it home tonight since it would never fit in the car and we had to wait for the truck. Hey, how's Wednesday for getting together for a beer with you & Christine? Cele |
