Default Emancipation

Hi, I have a quick question... I am currently 16 years old and i have
had a full-time job working as a project manager for a web-design
company. I want to get emancipated. Is this possible? i have $5,000 in
my account, my high school diploma and had a full-time job. Would it
be hard for me to become emancipated so i wouldnt have to live under
my parents household? thanks in advanced...

OK, here's what you should do...

1. Go to the town/city library and look up the information. They have what
your looking for, they always do.

2. IMO the only strike against you would be your age. In the majority of
states the age of emancipation is 18. In some it's 19. In still others
it's 20 or even 21. But the library will have that info for you.

3. It doesn't matter what you have in your bank account. My advice: LEAVE
IT THERE. Don't go blowing it all on filing papers -until- you know what
your doing.

4. Do you have a full time job now that your out of high school?

5. Disregard anything that FFK spews out. She's full of hot air and has
some very serious mental issues that she needs to address with her shrink.
She will mislead you into doing or saying something that may well get you
into a lot of hot water with your parents. And that's certainly something
you do not want to do.

6. If, for whatever reason, you can't or don't find the info at the
library, ask a local attorney. He or she may well offer you 10-15 minutes
(maybe more, I don't know) of "free" legal advise as a way of showing you
that they actually know what they're doing. It's how they sell themselves
to a potential client (which is what you'd be if you where to hire them).
But DON'T go walking in there with a wad of cash and start saying something
like "I want to file XYZ paper work for..." Lawyers are like sharks - cash
is like blood in the water to them. So leave it in the bank and never
mention it to them!!

FYI - $5k is chicken feed to these slime balls, er, lawyers. Most
semi-competent attorneys charge $100 or more an hour. So do the math...

Just get online and look. Why go to the library when all this stuff
is online.

Oh brother, here is where "Dusty" goes wrong. The entire point of him
wanting to be emancipated is because he is UNDER the legal age of
emancipation.

3. It doesn't matter what you have in your bank account. My advice: LEAVE
IT THERE. Don't go blowing it all on filing papers -until- you know what

4. Do you have a full time job now that your out of high school?

Are you stupid, DUSTY?? He said he had a full time job as a project
manager. Hello.. knock knock..

From the sounds of it he is self sufficient and thats part of the
reason he wants emancipation from his parents.

5. Disregard anything that FFK spews out. She's full of hot air and has

Like anything that comes out of your mouth is something anyone should
listen to!!!

If anyone is mental its you!!!!

6. If, for whatever reason, you can't or don't find the info at the

Yes ask a local attorney, im sure that he will tell you exactly how to
do all this stuff without charging you. Dusty you are a nut!!!!

I would honestly check out your local bar associations website and see
if they have anything on this issue. The one in my state has
instructions on how to complete paperwork in court and what to do
exactly to prepare.

Precisely why he should go to the library - the web site may not have the
exact information he needs.
And that is precisely what he needs - exact information.

2. IMO the only strike against you would be your age. In the majority

of

And I see you still have that reading comprehension disorder to deal with
FFK. If you'll take your head out of the sand for a moment, you will notice
I was providing information that may be of use to Zac. But hey, that's
never stopped you from making a complete and utter fool of yourself in the
past, why should you stop now.

3. It doesn't matter what you have in your bank account. My advice:

LEAVE

Zac wrote: "..i have had a full-time job.." This denotes PAST TENSE. It
does not state that he has that job or any other job at the current time.
Hence the question.

5. Disregard anything that FFK spews out. She's full of hot air and has

It's a well established fact that you certainly do not listen - to anyone!
Even when that person is yourself.

If anyone is mental its you!!!!

Ah, FFK, you poor deluded newsgroup pest. When will you ever lean that you
cannot hope to win a logical, rational argument - you lack the fundamental
intelligence to grasp the basic concepts of logic and reasoning. Therefore,
having a proper discourse with a person of the likes of you is if having a
battle of wits with an unarmed person.

6. If, for whatever reason, you can't or don't find the info at the

Yes, ask an attorney. The vast majority of them do indeed offer the initial
consultation as free of charge, in most cases. Since this would be his first
time speaking to an attorney, this would count as his initial consultation,
or hadn't you figured that part out FFK?

I would honestly check out your local bar associations website and see
if they have anything on this issue. The one in my state has
instructions on how to complete paperwork in court and what to do
exactly to prepare.

The "local bar association" isn't likely to be of much help, unless it's for
finding an attorney in Zac's local area. The Bar will not likely offer
legal advice as that would then place them in the position of representing
him (something they will simply not allow to happen), nor will they offer to
do the paperwork for him. Though they might point him to the resources to
do it.

This is another fallacy shot down in flames. Just another in a long list of
fallacies that you contend to be the truth FFK. Stop confusing the boy and
let him make up his own mind with the proper information.
