Default Sleeping on Tummy

I remember before labour, contributing to a thread about "what will you
miss about being pg/ what won't you miss", and I added "I can't wait to
sleep on my tummy again".

With these milk-filled bazoongas ? Hardly

Oh man I didn't even *think* about that! Sleeping on my stomach was
my #1 thing I was going to do after having the baby.

Thanks alot Captain Bring-Down! :-)

I was a huge tummy sleeper before I became pregnant. When I was *finally*
able to tummy sleep again - I couldn't take it anymore. I never sleep on my
stomach now. Weird.

I always looked forward to that too, all three times and it was always
so long before I finally could. The "baby" is 19 months old now and I
am uncomfortable on my belly ( I try and try lol. I think that
because I slept only on my sides with her nursing all night for 15
months my body just won't be right on my belly. I'll keep trying
though!

Oh no...don't crush my dreams! I was just thinking about this last night,
how VERY much I can't wait to sleep on my stomach again! I never thought
about nursing-boob-itis....

I know I am an odd one but I never had to give up tummy sleeping and this
used to bug my SIL to no end... hehe she was 6 months ahead of me and always
asked if I could still sleep on my stomack.. the answer was always yes...
well I think the last 1-2 weeks I had to lay at an angle more... I think it
is because I am a "super sized" mom anyway.

Wow!!! I was amazed that I could sleep on my stomach until around 24-27
weeks or so, but now? No WAY.....not a chance. I accidentally rolled onto my
stomach once and it felt like I was smushing the baby and steamrolling my
internal organs. SO not possible to sleep on my stomach. But I truly never
thought about breastfeeding-boobs...I have been ready to just dive onto my
stomach and sleep for about 18 hours!

I didn't sleep on my belly at all with the first two pregnancies, but
with the last one I could sleep almost all the way on it. I was sort
of turned just a little with the upper leg hiked over a body pillow. I
missed sleeping flat down though.

Sad, but true. It takes me a couple of months
before I can really sleep on my stomach again. Of
course, with the sleep deprivation I don't really care
as long as I'm sort of approaching horizontal ;-)

Best wishes,
Ericka
