Highchair question
Our first two boys were pretty hard on our high chair, so I'm not sure
it will survive through the third, who is currently 7 ½ months. We have purchased a seat that you clamp onto the table and for now it works great. He likes being at the table with the rest of us, and I like that it doesn't take up too much space. So far, the only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't work with our patio table and we like to eat outside a lot in the summer. This isn't a huge issue though. I'm wondering if this will continue to work as he gets bigger and is feeding himself more. Has anyone used one of these as their only highchair? Thanks! ~ Sher |

Thanks! ~ Sher I do know people who skip a high chair and go straight to a booster or something that sits at the table. I'm quite sure #4 will be the same way, want to be at the table where the action is. I don't think you *need* a high chair. We have the Graco Neat Seat and it'll make it through 4 kids (if she/he uses it). Sophie #4 due July 7, 2004 |

Highchair question
If it doesn't (I believe there is a weight limit), you could consider
a booster seat that will fit onto one of your regular dining chairs. You'd be able to use it outdoors, as well. Nan That's what we have - a primary colored, Safety First one I think. A real space saver. I think the ones that clip on tables look scary. |

Our table is pretty small and I never felt one of the clip on ones would be sturdy enough. Nan |

Highchair question
That's what we have - a primary colored, Safety First one I think. A real space saver. I think the ones that clip on tables look scary. We used to have one of those safety first portable ones and I could not stand it. To take it off the chair, clean, and put back on the chair all the time, with the different places food could fall it was such a pain. We used one for about 1.5 years and just got a one piece plastic one when we got a new dining set, plus, it's even less expensive (only $10 vs $15 for the other one I think). We also have a tot loc that we used for travel to ILs and restaurants with Sophie. We have only used it on occasion with Eva, but then again, we go out a lot less now that we only have one income. He was already 27 pounds at 6 months, and while I don't expect him to keep growing at such a swift rate, I still may not get as much use out of this as I thought and he may not be ready for a booster by then. I think I'll just wait and see how he grows. That's what we have - a primary colored, Safety First one I think. A real space saver. I think the ones that clip on tables look scary. Our table is pretty small and I never felt one of the clip on ones would be sturdy enough. Nan I've been surprised at how sturdy this seat is. The other boys have hung on the back (and asked not to do it again, of course) and it hasn't budged. It is usually attached to the granite counter top, so there's no way he could end up tipping the "table" over. ~ Sher |
