It really stunk. We had a great day, went swimming at my parent's hotel
pool, went for dinner, and while we were there she got a terrible
stomachache. We told the waitress, who came anyway with all the staff and
sang happy birthday, while she was in the bathroom! Then she threw up in the
parking lot, which we thought was kinda funny cos it's on the main road of
our town. People were driving by staring, probably thinking "eeww not gonna
eat there" - lol. But after that she instantly felt a million times better.

Today is the party

It really stunk.

Poor Charlotte! You'll laugh about it one day, I suppose! I hope the party
today was a lot better.

It did go well but why can't people RSVP??!! All these people showed up
that I never heard back from. I'm glad they came but come on.

Because they're idiots and rude to boot. Dontcha
know their time is soooo much more valuable than your time,
money, and effort in the planning? ;-)

Oh, God, don't even get me started. :-p I have given a LOT of parties over tha
past 13 years, and more people don't RSVP than do, it seems like. I find it
helps a bit if I put a date down on the invitation and a comment like, "Please
let me know if you are coming by date so I will know how much food to
prepare." Some people really need to be beaten over the head about this kind
of thing.

Usually, if they don't RSVP, it means they aren't coming, but not always!

Thank you, Sophie! I was thinking of Charlotte as we celebrated
Jayan's birthday. Jayan had a 3 parties total to celebrate her
birthday. A small party with her playgroup (it was on Friday), then a
family party on Friday... her big party was on Saturday with lots of
kids at an indoor play thing... you know with lots of huge play
equipment to play on. Everyone had a wonderful time, and she loved
it.

I know! We had the same problem. Since we were having it at a play
place, we had to know numbers so they would have the right amount of
food. We were still calling people the day of the party to see if
they were coming.

I know that it slips people's minds, but come on... it is a simple
phone call.
