Default fertility and age

Hi, I'm the doctor who was misquoted in this article in the Washington
Times. What I said in my talk was that fertility begins to
dramatically decline at 35, not 30. When I saw the article I was upset
about this mistake, and asked the journalist to immediately have a
correction published. He said that instead of that, he'd blog about
it, but he has not done that yet. Needless to say, I am not happy
about this.
Regarding the widespread misinformation young women have about
fertility, there was a poll in I believe 2001 (the reference is in my
book, I don't have it handy) showing that 89% of young professional
women thought they'd be able to get pregnant into their 40's. Also
documented in the book, the fertility support organization RESOLVE
confirmed this.
Thanks for your discussion of this important topic.
PS to correct another misquote: PTSD probably occurs in about 1% of
abortions.

And you wonder where the widespread misinformation comes from.

Pretty ironic -- an article talking about widespread misinformation
perpetuates the concept.
