Oooooohhhhh Booooy....Here we go!

It's telling that what you are fantasizing about here
is not self-defence, but murder.

If the person under attack is, as you say, an "expert
shot," then he ought to be able to disable the
assailant with one, or perhaps two, well-placed
rounds, which might be survivable. Formal police
training, in fact, teaches that the proper procedure
is to discharge two quick rounds, aimed at the area
of largest body mass. With a Glock 40, that should be
sufficient. If not, then subsequent shots are, of
course, permissible.

Your little adolescent fantasy about firing
repeatedly, reloading if necessary, until the
assailant is dead, would generally be seen
as unacceptable to anyone but a member of
the New York City Police Department and would
probably get you charged with murder.

First of all, I believe the message was a JOKE. That's HUMOR or FUNNY if

you
don't comprende. Talk about ANAL.

Second of all, since you want to make it serious, you're dead wrong about
shooting to "disable" someone. If you are in fear for your life or the

life
of another, then deadly force is justified. Being an "expert shot" is

great,
but not necessary, to land a couple of slugs in the assailant's center

mass
(middle of his chest). If you're really in FEAR, then you're not going to
take the time to line up the sights and try to hit his moving leg which is
running at you (and you probably won't hit anyway). You're much better off
to use (for example) the Israeli technique, wherin you basically point and
shoot without utilizing the sights. If you practice with this technique
you'd be amazed how accurate you can be without even looking at your

sights.
As far as you little "dig" about the NYPD being murderers, well, you can
stick it up your ass. Pin on a shield and do what we (cops) do for a day

and
then get back to me about shooting to disable people and other related
subjects. Until you KNOW what you are talking about, don't make

statements -
ask questions - you'll look like less of an assclown.

Situation-Question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two
small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge
knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams
obscenities, raises the knife, and charges. You are carrying a
Glock .40 and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds
before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

You're in a deli about to order a sandwich and a crazed rhinocerous crashes
through the front door of the shop. Do you order the ham on rye or the
reuben sandwich?

So do I. But it gave me the opportunity to
say something I wanted to say. Got a problem
with that?

Note I did not suggest aiming for a spot that
would only "disable." So you're tilting at
a windmill.

Yes, I know. Everyone knows.

I didn't say one should "line up sights" or aim
for his leg.

==As far as you little "dig" about the NYPD being murderers, well, you can

You mean like that broomstick the gay-rapist
N.Y. cops used on Abner Louima? You guys
seem to fantasize quite a lot about things
being stuck in people's asses. Now why is
that?

== Pin on a shield and do what we (cops) do for a day and
==then get back to me about shooting to disable people and other related
==subjects.

You mean like shooting Amadou Diallo 41 times
because he reached for his wallet? Is that the
kind of thing you're talking about? Or killing an
entirely innocent 57-year-old woman with a
concussion grenade because the cops got an
address wrong? Yup, you guys are heroes
all right.

==Until you KNOW what you are talking about, don't make statements -
==ask questions - you'll look like less of an assclown.

That would be my advice to you.

Well, if you are stupid enough to get yourself in this situation, I, as the
very liberal wife, would shoot if my husband didn't. But he would.

Thanks, but I was only being honest.
Besides, to protect what they consider "family", most people would do the
same thing.
I just happened to be the first to admit it.

All "macho" aside, I feel that it's best to be of the mindset to handle the
problem yourself. Statistically, it can take anywhere from 5 to 40 minutes
for a cop to get to your location, more than enough time for some crazed
lunatic to murder your family and flee.

If you wait for the cops, you risk becoming a statistic.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. If you're cursed both ways, better
to act, than not to act.

Oh, I'm sorry - I seem to have mistaken you for someone with a higher
maturity and intelligence level. Please disregard my prior reply, as I
assumed that it was being read by someone with at least a G.E.D. - silly me.
People like you should have a little asterisk or something that pops up next
to your name when you leave messages on newsgroups that identifies you as an
assclown so people don't bother replying to your messages.
