Default Origins of "This little Piggy"

I was just reading a collection of Beatrix Potter Nursery Rhymes to the kids,
and came across one called "Piggy went to market". It's basically the same as
"this little piggy" except says "this little piggy had meat" instead of roast
beef, and "this little piggy cried because he couldn't find his home" instead
of "cried all the way home". So I'm wondering, is she the originator of that
poem, or is that just a takeoff? Anyone know?

She's certainly not the originator, it's probably just a different version. I
have seen it several different ways.

Could be. The version I know says:

This little piggy: lyrics
This little piggy went to market,
This little piggy stayed at home,
This little piggy had roast beef,
This little piggy had none.
And this little piggy went...
"Wee wee wee" all the way home...

The lyrics for this nursery rhyme were first published in 1728.

I found this one too

This Little Piggy
(Adapted and translated by Rose Treviño.

This little piggy went shopping,
This little piggy stayed home,
This little piggy had meat with gravy,
This little piggy had none,
And this little piggy cried “Wee, wee, wee”
All the way to Grandma.

I don't find your version online - is it in a Beatrix Potter
book?

There is no sound, no cry in all the world
that can be heard unless someone listens ..
