Well people complain that they get ignored when they are pregnant and people
complain when they get too much attention. You can't win.

Heh.

When I was
pregnant with DD2, she ended up being five days late. I had went shopping on
my due date and of course this little old lady asked me when I was due. I
had the pleasure of saying today. She looked horrified that I was out
shopping, lol.

I'm actually wondering how far I will travel from home in the last two
weeks I am taking off work before the B-Day EDD.

I want to go to a warehouse outlet place that has some good kids lines
about 45mins driving away to shop and look and enjoy myself, and I
wonder if i'll want to be so far from home alone ?

And i'm hoping to get time for a pedicure - but I know 2 girls that
never made it to their appointments. Maybe that's the way to bring on
labour ? - book a pedicure ? g

I haven't gotten anything like that yet and I'm right on date with you.
I'm not that active though. I hobble around like an old lady with my
sore pelvis and now again I've come down with the blasted nose/allergic
rhinitis issue, am achey and sore and can't go anywhere without a box of
kleenex strapped to my side.

Maybe they are scared you might hit them ?

Same thing happened to me when I went to an arts festival at 35 weeks.
DH walked to get the car while I sat at the corner so he could pick me
up. Like 6 people asked me if I was ok. I wasn't even breathing hard
for goodness sake. I felt embarrassed.

My uncle who has 4 (14,11,8, and 5) children was horrified when I told
him we had gone to this arts festival. I find it hard to believe that
my aunt was an invalid when she was super pregnant.

I personally think it can be a good thing to keep moving as you get
into late pregnancy, as long as you are not in severe pain like some
folks, which CAN happen obviously.

agree totally.
I am 'on my bum' enough anyway, so a little outing is good for me.
Otherwise i'm just a couch potato, and I get booooooooooooooooored

Well I have to say as someone who actually was really uncomfortable, it is
nice when people ask how you are. I still went out and about but I did need
to sit down a lot and couldn't manage nearly as much walking etc.. as
normal. I think it's nice that people ask you if you need anything. For me
the only people who bothered me were the ones who would talk abot nothing
else as if all you are is pregnant.

Now that's funny. I don't mind the preg/baby/child chat, as *long* as
it's with other mummies. The men seem to enjoy the "you just wait
*wink*" tales of knowing ( what do they know ?! , whereas the women
seem to be more sensible and less "lets try to scare the new girl"

I met some lovely babies and kids yesterday, and chatted with many
mummies with babes of different ages. All the girls were happy and
positive and glowing for me - which was nice. They all seemed happy
with their lot ... it's the men that were more aghast that I was there,
living large ( or women who have not been preg.

I am carrying quite low, the baby has turned, and is occasionally
putting it's head into the pelvis already, which worries me that either
it is getting ready to come out too early or that I will spend the next
six weeks in excruciating discomfort with the baby's head already in
place!

Here's hoping you don't get *too* uncomfortable.
I carried very low and my first two were head down and
engaged quite early. I didn't make it to my due date,
but the first was born at 38.5 weeks and the second at
39.5 weeks, so I wouldn't expect to go early even in the
situation you describe.

So so true! When people ask/say "You don't have much longer, right?" They
always look quite surprised when I tell them I have another 3+ months to go.
Just about everyone seems to expect me to go early!

Went to a Race Day today. It was sponsored by my company ( an annual
family day ) with a marqyee and spit roast and salads and pony rides for
the kids and etc.

So of course, my belly gains much attraction, but when people find out

"Are you feeling ok, do you need to sit down, can I get you a drink ?"
"It could happen any minute now, you sure are brave coming out today "

"Are you *sure* you're feeling ok ?"


So i'm looking and feeling as well as ever, and even suggesting to
people that I think the baby's pretty happy inside and will probably go
over anyway,,,, blah blah blah .... but anyway, no-one would believe how
blase' I was ( denial ? and not-at-all anxious.

I just found it funny. I do feel as far away from B-Day as I did all
those months ago at conception, so maybe it is me that has the problem,
roaming around the countryside without my Obs/Gyn in tow

i just dont get this from people... everyone asks 'how long have you got
left?'
i'll say '5 weeks' and they'll look at me with this weird look and go
'you're kinda small'
lmao!!

I can say that i really do enjoy having the smaller belly now, with all the
complaints i hear that everyone is having... being sore etc etc.

Me and my SO have just started walking nightly... its alot harder than it
was pre-pregnancy but i can still do it, and they are long walks! lol

I remember the day Ruben was born, In the morning I went to preg-
swimming, in the afternoon I went downtown to get me a mc recorder so I
would be able to listen to all those new-age tapes I made during laber.
It was POORING like it can do here in Italy (or it doesn't rain for a
whole year or the sky just opens and spills everything down in 1
afternoon). I walked around smiling and just feeling wonderfull. I came
home sooking wet, happy and laughing. And after 2 hours labors started. I
was 39 weeks and 5 days then.
