Default best time of year?

All other things being equal, and assuming you can reliably schedule
conception, what's the best time of the year to be born? and the
worst?

Thanks for your input!

give birht in spring - no pregnancy over summer, and the weather is starting
to get warmer for the late nights and can go for nice walks and stuff...

that probably makes autumn the worst - i have 2 in autum and 1 in spring!

Well for me, as a school teacher, I timed my impending birth for the summer.

Anytime between March and June. Nice to not have to bundle a newborn,
and nice not to be big and pg during the hot time of the year.

That means getting pg between June and September.

Totally agree on this one, and also when you are getting up in the night to
feed it's warmer and you don't have to try and keep baby and yourself
covered up as much.

I wanted a Spring birth so I could return to school in the fall, it didn't
happen and I had a Fall baby, and it's turned out much better. I need the
stay in car carseat now for my 6 month old, so I would have been doing that
in the winter with a Spring baby, bundling her up and carrying her out to
strap her in vs bundling her in her carseat in the house and then sliding
her into her carseat base.

Now that summer is almost here, I don't have to worry about not being able
to put sunscreen on a newborn, I can put it on a 6 month old.

I think that a 6 month old will get a good bit of enjoyment out of the
summer this year, if she were still a newborn, then summer would mean
nothing to her, but now that she is getting a bit mobile and playing a bit,
the summer should be lots of fun.

That being said, being pregnant and working in a bakery in the middle of
Summer really sucks bad. Hopefully ofr baby #2 I will work somewhere
sitting down and air conditioned :-)

I thought this study was interesting:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/q...&dopt=Abstract

"CONCLUSION: We identified a seasonal variation in preeclampsia that
appears to be more strongly related to timing of conception than to the
timing of delivery. The highest incidence of preeclampsia was
associated with conception in the summer months."

Can anyone think of a good explanation for this? The p-value seems
strikingly high.
