No longer doing either, but #2 was conceived while I was still
BFing #1. They'll be 26 months apart, assuming all goes well.
I got my cycles back when DS was 11 mo. No troubles conceiving
the first time either.

I got my period when DD was 9 mos and started TTC immediately. Got
pregnant when she was 17 mos. BF'd throughout the pregnancy and am
tandem nursing now (DS is 3 mos and DD is 2 1/2 years). It can be
done! (P.S. I used a fertility monitor because of my age -40- but it
would have happened regardless).

Sorry to piggyback. We successfully conceived when Sproutkin was 22
months old. My body had a few "practice" jerks into ovulation at 7/8ish
months, and by 9/10 months postpartum was ovulating again normally
(despite nursing around the clock upwards of 10+ times a day). I think
this is one of those YMM really really V things.

We never used any form of contraception after the birth of DS. We began
TTC'ing when DS was 12 months old. He BF'd until 21 months. At that time,
he was down to BF'ing about every other night. We didn't conceive until DS
was 24 months. I think BF'ing, in our case, was a very good form of
contraception.

We also didn't concieve till DD was cut down to bedime only feeding,
despite abandoning BC for several monhs before that. My cycles had been
normal for 6 months when we began trying. It may have been coincidence, it
took a few months the first time too, but I also started losing weight when
that next to last nursing went, without hardly trying.
