Default Amoxycillin Question

I am taking the Amoxycillin, but before my dentist prescribed it, he
was about to give me an anitbiotic which is the worst you can use
while nursing. (so he told me).I had to tell him I was nursing as he
didn't ask, so he quickly re-wrote the prescription.

Which one was it? I can't help but be curious as to what a dentist considers
the worst AB for a nursing mom to take. My money's on Cipro...

Default Amoxycillin Question

Haha Tine

I laughed at this too and I AM British!!! I have been away living in the
USA for too long though, so this kind of turn of phrase tickles me now
too!!!

Thanks for giving me a giggle!

It's always been fine in the past, but I have notice babies going to the
toilet more often before.

I'm sorry - but being a Dane this tickled my language giggle muscles. Do

you
say "going to the toilet" about babies? Mine always used diapers :-)

Default Amoxycillin Question

I did Amoxycillin more than I would have liked while nursing. It did
effect my baby. He doesn't handle Amox. well when it's prescribed for
him. It's not much better when it's for me. It's safe to use while
nursing and there are not alot of other options.

I hope you have a baby that handles it well when she get's it second
hand. Maybe drinking fennel tea will help.

I'm told that 500 mg Amoxycillin is OK to take whilst bf. My question is
how much comes through in the breastmilk and will it be likely to give DD
any side effects?
DD has had this drug before for an ear infection, but got diarrhoea and was
taken off the drug early. I have been putting off taking a course to clear
up my rosacea, but now think I'm going to have to take it as the cream
('Rozex' - metronidazole) and Karen's suggestion of using breastmilk is just
not clearing it up.
Does Hales say anything about this?

TIA
Amanda
