Aunt pulls nephew's eyeballs out with a knife
[two dollars says she's a neo-con republican]
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/broward/sfl- flbstabbing1202sbdec02,0,7939335.story A Lauderhill woman was charged Saturday with attempted first-degree murder, accused of partially blinding her autistic nephew with a military-style knife as the boy's grandmother looked on, then leaving him to bleed overnight, authorities said. The boy's aunt, Lisa Babington, 40, was in stable condition Saturday at Broward General Medical Center after undergoing surgery for a self- inflicted eye injury, police said. Detectives said they would interview Babington about her alleged role in the horrific incident once she awoke from sedation. Initially thought to be mute, Edward Alexander Clark Babington, 14, awoke early Saturday to say his aunt attacked him, said Lt. Rick Rocco, a spokesman for the Lauderhill Police Department. The boy was blinded in one eye, and remained in stable condition Saturday afternoon as specialists tried to salvage the sight in his other eye at a "secure hospital facility" in Miami, Rocco said. It was not clear whether the boy would lose vision in his second eye. Police said they had not determined what, if any, charges they would file against the boy's grandmother, Stella Babington, 72, who said her daughter told her not to call 911 when the attack began, and that she didn't want to get her daughter in trouble, police said. "This is ghastly, I have never seen anything like it," said Rocco, who has worked in law enforcement for 23 years. "This is off the scale in terms of how could someone do something like this to anybody, let alone a juvenile." The attack began between 10 and 11 p.m. Thursday, when Lisa Babington found her nephew asleep in a bedroom at the home they share with the boy's grandmother in the 8500 block of Northwest 53rd Street, Rocco said. Stella Babington told police she saw her daughter plunge a 7-inch knife into the boy's eyes as she uttered biblical verses and invoked the devil, Rocco said. The boy was left to bleed in bed overnight, Rocco said. At some point Lisa Babington pierced her own eye and staunched the blood with a towel before driving Friday morning to see her boyfriend, Jason Willoughby, in Pompano Beach, Rocco said. She asked Willoughby, 29, to drive her to a church, but then changed her mind and the couple returned to her Lauderhill home, Rocco said. Willoughby discovered the bloodied boy and summoned police at about 10:30 a.m., Rocco said. Reached by telephone Saturday, Willoughby declined to comment. As police escorted Lisa Babington from her home Friday, neighbor Joanne Kull, a retired bank employee, said she "was raving on that autistic children are a gift from God. She said 'please don't let them take me.'" Court records show Lisa Babington has had a troubled life. She was cited in 2000 and 2002 for drunken driving in Broward County. They also show financial hardships ranging from an eviction to debt. Kull said she couldn't fathom what incited the attack, saying the boy and his family appeared placid and largely kept to themselves. The boy takes the bus to Piper High School where he was enrolled as a ninth grader in September, and often accompanied his grandmother to Publix, Kull said. He was rarely seen with his aunt, whose father died in April, Kull said. No records show that the state Department of Children and Families contacted the Babingtons before the stabbing, Rocco said. Leslie Mann, DCF's Broward spokeswoman, said Saturday that she could not say if the agency had contacted the family. Stella Babington told police that she and her daughter were the boy's primary caregivers, Rocco said. It is not clear whether a court ruled on the boy's custody, or if it was a more informal arrangement between relatives, Rocco said. "We are reviewing the entire situation, what will happen to him from here and who is going to care for him," Mann said. Jason Knight, who worked with Lisa Babington for five years at Citrix Systems until early last year, said she often described her nephew as her "pride and joy." "Finding this out came as a big shock," Knight said, noting that she was well-liked and dependable in her job as a software tester. "She had a picture of her nephew in her office on her desk. She is the last person I would expect to do this something like this to him.". -- Rob Cypher robcypher.livejournal.com Usenet vet '96 to infinity.... |

Aunt pulls nephew's eyeballs out with a knife

It figures that a grandmother would be in the middle of something like this....and, try to keep it in the family. The boy's aunt, Lisa Babington, 40, was in stable condition Saturday at Broward General Medical Center after undergoing surgery for a self- inflicted eye injury, police said. Detectives said they would interview Babington about her alleged role in the horrific incident once she awoke from sedation. Aww, how "motherly". I'll bet if it was a grandFATHER, though, they'd be charging him with not reporting it....if not neglecting to place himself between the knife and the boy's eye. "This is ghastly, I have never seen anything like it," said Rocco, who has worked in law enforcement for 23 years. All the more reason to kick granny's complicit, troublemaking ass into a cage. If the boy loses his vision, completely, it probably could've been saved if she had done what she was supposed to. "This is off the scale in terms of how could someone do something like this to anybody, let alone a juvenile." "Yeaaah." "Riiiiight." ...Dummies. So stop making a show out of shock and start pushing to give grandma a nice Chinese caning, and Auntie a seeing eye dog of her own. The attack began between 10 and 11 p.m. I wonder which verses? Matthew 5:29 would sound likely. The problem with most of these Carrie's mommy types, though, is that Jesus preached these extremes to practice on the self...not others. At some point Lisa Babington pierced her own eye and staunched the blood with a towel before driving Friday morning to see her boyfriend, Jason Willoughby, in Pompano Beach, Rocco said. I wonder how long before the Scott Petersen lynch mob turns its attention to this guy? He appears to be the nearest available male. She asked Willoughby, 29, to drive her to a church, but then changed her mind and the couple returned to her Lauderhill home, Rocco said. She must've forgotten her Bible. Willoughby discovered the bloodied boy and summoned police at about 10:30 a.m., Rocco said. If he "discovered" what she had done, then she must've cooked up another story to explain what had happened to her own eye in the meantime. I'll bet that was an interesting fable. Maybe she brought him there, without knowledge, in order to somehow implicate him. Reached by telephone Saturday, Willoughby declined to comment. As police escorted Lisa Babington from her home Friday, neighbor Joanne Kull, a retired bank employee, said she "was raving on that autistic children are a gift from God. She said 'please don't let them take me.'" Which parts, Lisa? The eyes? Court records show Lisa Babington has had a troubled life. Here we go..... She was cited in 2000 and 2002 for drunken driving in Broward County. They also show financial hardships ranging from an eviction to debt. Kull said she couldn't fathom what incited the attack, saying the boy and his family appeared placid and largely kept to themselves. Why do people like Kull always expect to? Is it just that they like having some excuse to get themselves onto the news? The boy takes the bus to Piper High School where he was enrolled as a ninth grader in September, and often accompanied his grandmother to Publix, Kull said. He was rarely seen with his aunt, whose father died in April, Kull said. It sounds like this ought to refer to the boy's father, but it reads like Babington's. Yeah, makes sense. This is all what typically happens when you give multi-generational matriarchs some throwaway kids in order to allow them to play house. They ALWAYS collect whatever kinds of support/charity they can mooch off of society to support themselves, while the kids (especially the boys) are generally allowed to run to ****......or, else, totally abused. "We are reviewing the entire situation, what will happen to him from here and who is going to care for him," Mann said. You do that, Mann. Jason Knight, who worked with Lisa Babington for five years at Citrix Systems until early last year, said she often described her nephew as her "pride and joy." Hahaha .....classic female-guardian/child-abuser phrase. "Finding this out came as a big shock," Knight said, noting that she was well-liked and dependable in her job as a software tester. "She had a picture of her nephew in her office on her desk. She is the last person I would expect to do this something like this to him.". Well, this dude owes me a new monitor, keyboard, and Pepsi for yet another laughably trite observation. I'd just love to see some statistics researched as to the number of exposed female child abusers who always kept up the "my kids are my life" charade for their family, friends and co-workers, using cheap scripts like that one... - - - "And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake": Turin I have such sites to show you... ------------------------ http://www.myspace.com/turin_turambar http://groups.google.com/group/Men_First/ $B!i(B http://turinturambar.fortunecity.com/blog/ ------------------------ "He who changeth, altereth, misconstrueth, argueth with, deleteth, or maketh a lie about these words or causeth them to not be known shall burn in hell forever and ever...." ----- -- Rob Cypher robcypher.livejournal.com Usenet vet '96 to infinity.... |
