... Does anyone know anything about continuing support for a 17 year old daughter who has become a parent herself? You'd best talk with a family law attorney on that one. The best guess I could give you is that until she's reached the "age of majority", you're gonna keep paying until she does reach it. And even then, the likelihood that you're going to have to run to the courthouse and file papers in order to stop paying is better then average. Question.. Is she getting C$ from her child's father? If she is.. Wow, talk about double dipping. |

Support for Child who is a parent?
I thought that having a baby and keeping it was an "emancipation
event." If I were the OP, I would ask that the court consider her emancipated and stop the child support. On Sat, 11 Feb 2006 19:19:26 GMT, "Bob Whiteside" wrote: "Ceil Wallace" wrote in message ... "Beverly" wrote in message ... I thought that having a baby and keeping it was an "emancipation event." If I were the OP, I would ask that the court consider her emancipated and stop the child support. I think the states are consistent on the issue of CS termination. Reasons include marriage, emancipation by court order, enlisting in the armed forces, being deported, the child dies, custody changes, and whatever age/HS graduation/college support law the state has established. Having a baby is not an "emancipation event." If an underage girl gets married to her baby's father that is an emancipation event. This is just one more example of how government policy discourages marriages. |

Just curious: Does the grandparent have any legal obligation to allow the grandchild to reside in their home? |
