Paramedics Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Underage Girl Victim Reportedly Assaulted During Girl Scout Ride-Along POSTED: 10:10 a.m. EST January 15, 2004 UPDATED: 10:20 a.m. EST January 15, 2004 FORT WORTH, Texas -- Two north Texas paramedics are accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in the back of an ambulance. One Fort Worth paramedic was in jail Wednesday night, and police were trying to find the other and arrest him. Police said the victim is a high school freshman who was on a "ride-along" as part of the Girl Scout's "Explorer" program. Police said the incident took place at about 2 a.m. Dec. 28. The Medstar ambulance was parked near Ridgmar Mall with the two paramedics up front and the 15-year-old in the back. According to police, the paramedics started asking some sexually suggestive questions and then moved into the back with the girl. Police said that one of the paramedics, 28-year-old James Russell, undid the victim's pants and had sex with her. Russell reportedly then went back up front, and the other paramedic, a 36-year-old man, also had sex with the 15-year-old. Medstar's general manager said the Explorer ride-along program was designed to allow Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to learn firsthand about emergency medicine. He also said that Medstar reported the incident to the authorities and that the two suspects are no longer employed by Medstar. The victim didn't report what happened for several days, and police said that while she didn't resist, she did feel pressured. Medstar has suspended its entire ride-along program. ----------- http://www.local6.com/news/2767134/detail.html |

Pressured or not, in California this would be called statutory rape whether she resisted or actively consented. |

What was she doing on a ride along ALONE??? Where was her girl scout
leader(s), fellow girl scouts or even parents? I have children in scouts and never have I heard of a child (teenager or otherwise) going on anything like this alone. And why didn't her parents make sure this child had proper healthy-adult supervision? |
