6 months is *much* easier than 6 weeks
Phoebe & Allyson was all, like:
Picture at http://tinyurl.com/xgx2 Wow, what a big girl! It seems like only weeks ago that I was looking at her newborn pics... My Sprogly, who just turned 12 weeks a couple of days ago, is like a different baby from just 6 weeks ago. He's discovered his fingers, and he laughed for the first time the night before he turned 12 weeks. I'd say he's about a week away from doubling his birth weight. All of a sudden my little floppy sleepy newborn is a big girl, who can sit all by herself, and get onto her hands and knees by herself, and go from sitting on the floor to hanging from my shirt collar while banging her head into my chin. Isn't it amazing how that suddenly happens? Especially when you think back to the exhausting newborn days. Congratulations! Caterpillar looks gorgeous and happy in the new pic. -- Belphoebe |

Heh, probably the same person who sent my DS "wake up crying in the middle of the night, but without wanting to nurse" vibes last night. Let's get 'em! -- Belphoebe |

Getting to 6 weeks was really, really hard for us. Getting to 6 months was so easy it's as if I just woke up one day and we were there. I hope this turns out to be true for us as well. Lauren turned 6 weeks on Tuesday and I swear Monday was her last really difficult day (probably coincidence, I know, but let me hold on to this illusion a while longer) and it's been a great week since. She actually drank from a bottle (yeah! first time) and rode in her stroller without complaining (yeah again, my back is breaking from the baby bjorn). And she's been waking for just 3 quick feeds a night so I feel human for the first time in weeks. Picture at http://tinyurl.com/xgx2 She is so adorable!! And sitting up just like a big girl. Maybe you can have someone photograph her first solid feeding? Rachel & Julie, mommies to the happy smiling Lauren |

Lauren turned 6 weeks on Tuesday and I swear Monday was her last really difficult day Yay! IME, there are things that are more troublesome and less troublesome that come and go, but the bf-specific ones either get easier and easier or are not that big a deal. She actually drank from a bottle (yeah! first time) Yay! Caterpillar took a couple of days to drink from a bottle, and still isn't a big fan. (Today she had a whopping 3 ounces during the 9 hours I was gone, stubborn little creature.) and rode in her stroller without complaining (yeah again, my back is breaking from the baby bjorn). Yay! I find the sling to be pretty easy, but everyone else opts for the stroller (which she generally likes, and doesn't ride in when she doesn't like it). I feel human for the first time in weeks. Yay! We're in "wake every hour to nurse" mode, here. After 3-4 days of it, I finally figured out that if I just latch her on, as opposed to trying to figure out why she's waking every hour, we all get more sleep and feel more human. Maybe you can have someone photograph her first solid feeding? I don't doubt someone will. Phoebe -- yahoo address is unread - substitute mailbolt |
