2weeks to go, yet we're riding as high as ever.
I'd like to hear from some naturally-labouring mums that didn't drop
until the very last minute or so

I don't remember ever dropping with #1. I went to my 39w appointment
on the Wed afternoon, the OB told me I was about 2 or 3/5th engaged
(which means that about half the head was still outside the pelvis)
and the next morning my waters broke. I didn't feel any changes in
fundal height or head movement from the day before so I'm guessing my
baby engaged while I was in labour.

Interestingly I could feel my third child engaging during labour, she
was high when my waters broke and when my contractions started but at
the contractions continued I could feel her getting closer and closer
to my cervix as it dilated. That was kind of weird.

I've got three kids, and all three times, baby didn't drop until
labour started i.e. with baby #2, I remember the midwife feeling my
belly and being able to grab his head ABOVE my pubic bone in early
labour - and he was in my arms 6 hours later.

I'm really not sure when I dropped...I am pretty sure it wasn't until
the day I went into labor. My stomach always looked like I was
carrying high (even when the doctor said critter was it -1 position),
and I never really felt like the pressure from critter pushing up into
my lungs let up until maybe the day of his birth. I wouldn't worry
about not dropping early at all!

Drop? I've been carrying this baby around practically on my thighs for a
couple weeks now! Baby seems especially fond of this low position during
yoga class, which is not always helpful, either. Ocassionally plays at
being engaged, but so far nothing permanent.

Here is one naturally-labouring mom whose baby didn't drop until the very
last minute ;-):-)

thanks all !

i'm not as worried now, and the more I think about my short torso, the
more I figure "if you're moving down, you're moving out"
