2 month old won't sleep at day care
We just started taking our son to day care. Normally he would sleep
about 3- 4 hours during the day and an hour or two in the evening before going to bed. At day care he's only sleeping for about 40 minutes in a 7 hour period because of the noise over there. Has anybody encountered this same problem? |

2 month old won't sleep at day care
Normally he would sleep
about 3- 4 hours during the day and an hour or two in the evening before going to bed. At day care he's only sleeping for about 40 minutes in a 7 hour period because of the noise over there. Has anybody encountered this same problem? My DD#1 drove the daycare batty because she wouldn't hardly ever take a nap there. On weekends at home, she'd nap before lunch, then again in the late afternoon - or if at home on holidays. She was so interested in all the activity and wanting to play with the other babies that she'd never settle down. I don't think it was the noise so much as her interest in not missing everything. A good thing was that she never seemed to mind not having a nap - she wouldn't become fussy or cranky and cry. She would power nap in the car on the way to and from the daycare. As soon as I picked her up and put her in the car seat - she was asleep before I'd put the car in reverse. I also worked with the daycare and we got a 'schedule' for feeding time, nap time, play time, etc. so that going from weekend to weekday at the playcare wasn't a constant mixed up conflict. She still power napped in the car, and wouldn't get to sleep very often at the daycare, but she was very happy there. Occasionally, they learned, that when they could get her to be still for about 5 minutes, if she was in a comfortable position, she'd drop of to sleep - but it wasn't an every day event - but once in a while. They looked at it as a game between the workers "Look I got her asleep!!!!" She was an excellent baby and they loved her. Kim |
