i had read that it is not good to bottle feed your baby whlie lying
down the child could get ear infections is that also true for breastfeeding . And could anybody reccomend a bottle that i could start trying to fed him w/ as an alternative. I'm currently trying the dr brown but he does not like the nipple. |

Breastfeeding in bed is fine as far as that goes. I use a haberman feeder when Erin has a bottle. Andrea mom of 6 Erin is 10 weeks! |

Ear infections are generally not a problem with breastfed babies. In fact, nursign lying donw is a excellent way to nurse and get some rest yourself. Keep it up! Second, a couple of comments on bottle feeding. I believe from your previous post that your baby is about 6 weeks. That means that this is about the right time to introduce it if you can. However, what are you putting in the bottle? You should not be using formula. Instead, you should be pumping and feeding expressed breast milk. Babies who take formula are shown to do less well than babies who are fed exclusively breast milk. Hope this helps, Larry |
