Wow...
Does that mean I look better than I am too? Does everyone picture me posting
in my PJ's with messy hair next to a dirty cereal bowl, or do they picture
me somewhat sane looking?

Shhhhhh! The first rule is that you must never
spill the beans! We are *all* looking fabulous as we type ;-)

Best wishes,

My bathroom is a wreck and the last

corners.. *sigh*

The bathroom is one area my dh never cleans. That's his "I don't care
what it's like" zone. So I clean it, but not fanatically.

I
post on. Why do people seem proud that they don't clean?

Well, for me it's not that I'm proud of it. Just that I'm not all
that interested in having a really clean house. Finding others that
think the same is great, as it flies in the face of the stereotype
that sahm's need to be doing it all.

Nan

Okay, I sort of get that. At the same time, you have dirty floors. That's
just - yuck.
Do you not *care* that they're dirty?

Not really. If I mop, then dh and ds track dirt in on their work
boots. I'm tired of trying to keep it nice. I sweep the floor when
it needs it (the cat sometimes flips her kibble around), but nobody
sits on it, crawls on it, or eats off it ;-)
I have other zones that bug me a lot, so I tend to keep those up and
make the floor the least of my concerns.

I'm not a great housekeeper, I don't particularly *like* cleaning, but it
has to be done, so I do it. shrug

I've adopted the, "it only has to be done when you're expecting
visitors" credo. G

Mum of Two spake thusly
I've held
her in a way that I hoped she'd swallow her mouthful of spit-up rather than
spit it over me. And she's not yet four months.

Well, that's training for solids, surely?

You don't need to wipe if it's only pee and there
are no other problems (sores, rashes, etc.). I
just swap diapers if it's just pee, no wiping.
Saves a lot of time.

Really? I didn't want to own up to that one in RL.

I don't use a wipe for pee, either. First morning diapers, I do, but
not during the day.

Buzzy Bee wibbled

You know you're in trouble when the dustbunnies on the stairs
start playing with the cats, rather than the other way around ;-)

IIRC your stairs are white on each end because they're painted that
way. Ours are white on each end because the dust doesn't settle in the
middle where we walk. ;-)

(Actually I cleaned them today, but only because I realised just how
*white* they actually were starting to look. It's an orangey-brown
carpet...)

LOL Megan :-D

I figure things are getting bad when you start having tumbleweeds roll
through the house-and you live in TN. I think some of ours are big enough to
scare the cats.

I figure that having to get used to the house at DH's level of cleanliness
instead of mine while I'm on bedrest is probably good practice for after the
baby gets here.

You must be talking about me as I'm the only one here with anything near
a dozen children...and well yes I am perfect, suck it up and get over it
while I polish my halo.

OK, now that I have a bit more time... ;-) I just wanted to say that I
do *not* wear my kid all the time (I can't physically do that), I don't
co-sleep (we don't even co-nap anymore because Max doesn't seem to like
it anymore), I only rock him excessively because I enjoy sitting in
rocking chairs and it's nice to have quiet time with him, he LOVES TV
and is watching it right now as I type, and, um, I can't remember what
else makes me a bad mommy, but I'm sure there are other things. ;-) Oh
yeah, he not only has cat hairs in his mouth sometimes, but also dog
hairs. In fact, he even had a dog *tongue* in there on Monday. I was
grossed right out, but he didn't seem bothered by it, so I just let it
go (I don't want to traumatise the dogs - I want the dogs to like the
baby). DH lets the dogs kiss him on the mouth all the time and he
hasn't died from it. But I don't feel like a bad mommy at all. ...and
I still don't think that you are. You are really not as bad as you feel
that you are. :-)

Oh yeah, I also don't cook. I can do it, but I'm too lazy. I don't
clean either. Same reason. I don't sew, but that's because I
completely suck at it and have no interest. I will eventually get back
into cooking, but it will probably be a while. You're definitely not
alone in these sorts of things.

ahem, raising children is a lot of work, commitment, enjoyment,
frustration, passion, sweat, tears, and fulfillment, that qualifies as a
career in my book.
