Why does this bother me? (re - breastfeeding)
Naomi Pardue wrote:
I don't get it. Why don't they just ban gang related clothing? Probably because it's hard to know what items are gang-related or what aren't? (I mean, if a girl is wearing a bandana, does it mean that she didn't have a chance to wash her hair that morning (MY favorite trick when I was in high school...), or that she thinks it's pretty, or that she's running with a gang that uses banadanas as a signal?) And more to the point, if they *are* gang signals, it's not great if uninvolved kids innocently wear something that might lead to a conflict. Best wishes, Ericka |

I'm the 3rd of 5 too and it was no big deal at all. We didn't feel
different, odd or particularly special. I am the third of four. I knew very few other families that large. (Most of my friends/classmates had one sibling, or none at all.) My siblings all have two kids each, and I have one. Very few of Shaina's friends/classmates have more than one sibling, and many are onlies. (A few of the parents at the daycare have three, but most have one or two.) Naomi CAPPA Certified Lactation Educator (either remove spamblock or change address to to e-mail reply.) |

The school I went to had a
no hats rule that was only for Sports caps and winter hats worn all day in the hallways and classes When I was in high school (and junior high) my schools had no dress code at all. (THough my MOTHER had a dress code for us!). I personally found it quite embarrassing and distracting to be going to class where many of my fellow students were virtually naked. (Hot pants, tube tops, halter tops (backless and tummy-less), and so on. I think the code at Shaina's school is pretty reasonable all told.
