Default abcesses

does anyone know what the advice about recurrent abcesses is from a bfing
point of view.

In our area there was a case recently where someone had recurrent abcesses,
got mixed advice, then when things got worse didn't see anyone and ended up
having to have them sorted surgically. Apparently the advice from the breast
clinic, who are specialists in breasts, not breastfeeding would be to stop
breastfeeding after 3 incidents of an abcess. But of course this raises the
how do you stop question, as stopping instantly could be worse.

Any ideas?

I don't know the answer, but I hope *you* don't have a breast abscess.
They're nasty. Ugh.

it was suspected I had one with my first, and I recieved excellent
treatment, I had an ultrasound the same day and had it been an abcess they
would have drained it there and then.
