which is worse: scratches or mittens

i trim and file our 3mth old nails regularly but she still manages to
scratch at night. recently she had some really bad scratches near her
tear duct. i am worried she could damage her eyes

the alternative is to put the mittens on again but i am worried these
do harm to her hands.they are always humid , damp & stinky from being
in her mouth.

which do you think is the worse evil, the scratches or the mittens? thx

I don't think wearing mittens for 12 hours at night is going to damage her
in any way. Scratches heal, but they aren't pretty, and like you said, she
could scratch her eyes or tear ducts and hurt herself. Keep up on the
nails, and do mittens.

Worse evil. LOL!

you didn't mention the other problem with mittens, that they would
prevent baby from grabbing everything and she is approaching the age
where she's learning to do that, so there is a balance to be found of
time with mittens on and time without - it usually works itself out by
the mittens falling off!
