You need to remember it is only temporary. There are a slew of things now to correct things you are unhappy with. While plastic surgery, such as tummy tucks, scares me, had I truly gotten the really bad stretch marks like my sister did, I may have considered it. I would've looked into other things that can really minimize the severity of them too, and not knowing the technical names, something along the lines of dermabrasion, chemical peels, etc. I don't believe it is all genetics, but moreso the luck of the draw, since some of us girls in my family did and some of us didn't get them. You need to turn your take on pregnancy around the best you can. Possessing the true ability, honor, and distinct privledge of carrying and building a baby is an amazing gift, and one that many women will never know unfortunately. (Don't get me wrong. I didn't enjoy being pregnant with the side effects like constant hot flashes, insomnia, etc., but what your body is doing right now and the "side effects" is soo worth it.) If I could've traded the pregnancy rash called PUPPP for a few stretch marks, I would have! Chin up! You are almost there! |

I've just read the other answers & now here's my 2 cents. I am not quite convinced it's genetics. Like another writer, I didn't get stretch marks, but one of my sisters did. I used this wonderful product called Tummy Honey Butter. Its all natural and I really liked it. It's manufactured by Mothers Intuition(www.mothersintuiton.com). You can't buy it off the website, but they tell you where to find it. It's also extremely affordable, not like some creams that I tried that didn't leave my skin as soft and supple. Try not to worry about it too much. I know it's kinda scary. The end result of all this challenge will be a beautiful child that will fulfill and enhance your life so much, you'll not even believe it. If you do get them, think of it as a mark of motherhood. Something that men will never understand and it's a beautiful thing. The right man won't care about little things like that. It's whats inside that truely counts. Good luck! & congratulations! |
