My sister emailed. She said our brother's wife (SIL) is dialating.
:-) My brother's third daughter, my third neice. He doesn't mind the
harem. I'm glad I'm not the one having the baby!

She sent along the caption to a cartoon that she saw and it reminded
her of me so I'm posting it for you guys: Being parents of teenagers
is like carrying a piano on our backs but being a single parent of
teens is like trying to catch a piano from 3 floors up...

The fall semester ends in 5 weeks. I can't believe Christmas is
nearly here and Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks. If I blink, will it be
2005?

Love to hear from everyone... updates, gossip, etc.

Cheers!
'Kate

PS... Joelle... you are missed.

Good to hear that Kate!
A new baby is always brings a renewed sense of being, in my opinion.
All is well here. Just studying for LSAT, working and taking care of the kids.
One is getting braces the first of the year, so we are "bracing" for that
financially! Pardon the pun.
heh

PS. Where is Joelle?

Paul and I have bought our tickets to New York for Christmas. Maybe
we'll get time to post over the season and let you all know how we're
liking it. Pete and T are very impressed that we've actually bought
the tickets and are really going. Anyone else going to be in NYC for
Christmas, and fancy a get together?

OK! Sounds like fun! I wished I were in NYC for a bit. Just to see some shows
and gawk.

T is doing really well. She's just finished her senior work experience
and got an A. They were very impressed with her, and it did her no end
of good to have such a fine evaluation.

Always good! Gosh, a Senior. Proms, college tests, and so much more!

We moved out of my parents' place and into our own 2 bedroom apartment
and it's working out well. We're right on public transit and I
*finally* have a short commute to work.

Woman, I know it has to be nice. I used to sleep on the Transit and had a lady
wake me up when it was my turn to pull the cord.
Ah....a short commute.....wow, I am jealous!

Work is challenging, at times frustrating, and interesting. It's quite
something starting a whole new programme and while the responsibility
is huge, so are the potential rewards. We're gradually beating the
challenges into submission and I'm starting to feel like we can really
do something good for kids, which is a good feeling.

It is always a good feeling to know you are assisting someone's betterment in
life. You go Cele!

D and M moved out of my parents' place a couple of weeks ago and are
very happy in their new, 3br apartment. They're both working, which is
good. I think that D will get bored eventually and go back to
university, but if she doesn't, it's her life. As long as she's happy
and functioning well, I'm not complaining.

Last week, on Friday, she piled up her car. On Monday, someone drove
into mine. And on Monday night, T got mugged. So life continues
lively, but we continue to stay on top of it. :-)

Yeeps. Mugged? Geesh. Could she ID the mugger? Ahem, like that will make much
of a difference eh?

I think we're all *really* looking forward to Christmas this year.

Cele

I am too. This is the first year, though, I will not have my grandmother here
and I am aware it will be difficult. I am only trying to embrace it.

smile Babies are so sweet ! Congrats auntie Kate ! Having babies at our ages
is unthinkable , absurd, crazy...... nope!

She sent along the caption to a cartoon that she saw and it reminded
her of me so I'm posting it for you guys: Being parents of teenagers
is like carrying a piano on our backs but being a single parent of

LOL! yep, that's me under that piano many times...........

The fall semester ends in 5 weeks.

Does that mean you get a break ! Good for you...enjoy !

I can't believe Christmas is
nearly here and Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks.

NO WAY ! We did not even finish the Halloween candy yet........

If I blink, will it be
2005?

Just don't blink us backwards, it has been a long hard climb.

Love to hear from everyone... updates, gossip, etc.

Cheers!

Well, not much different for now, here in P.A. gettin colder, even had some ice
on the pumpkin recently . My widdle brother gave me a 1998 ford windstar
minivan, cause he got himself a promotion and a company car ! He is such a
great brother, always trying to help . My 20 year old truck is still kicking
but I put it away for the winter. S is taking her meds regularly and is back
home now. I see a glimmer of light beyond the dark clouds .....The baby is
walking and even using two word sentences at 10 months old ! She has a cold and
ear infections though
I'm not back to work yet , may be able to be home for the winter months
which is great . M is working midnights and has picked up a part time respite
job working with a high functioning autistic 14 yr old
boy. She loves her work ! So I have taken to the stay at home mom/grandmom role
for a while. It is rather nice to be honest. Life has had its ups and downs,
but it's not so bad after all ! I'm gonna have the big christmas eve family
gathering at my house this year, I'll do all the cooking like Dad use to do
J will come home from school for a couple weeks over the holiday break, I
haven't seen her since last holiday. If the dog M brought with her does not
stop peeing on my couch we will have stuffed Malamute for thanksgiving dinner !
Guess that's about it for now. Have a good one !

It is... a bit on the sad side. She's the first grandchild born
without a grandparent (both sides). I guess the Aunts (my sister and
I) will have to fill in as best we can.

I'm sure you'll do great on the LSAT.

Is now a good time to mention that we still haven't sorted out where we'll
be staying?

Anyone else going to be in NYC for Christmas, and fancy a get together?

Good point, thanks. I knew there was a reason I liked you.
