The 90% Solution

Often cited in this ng, a study has shown that over 90% of families in
the US use spanking. Similar surveys, such as on college classes show
that well over 90% of student say they were spanked as children.

That would make a 9 out of 10 chance that a child or adult has been
spanked.

And that would mean the odds, in cases such as this, that the
perpetrator had been spanked as a child very high.

Or he is from that rare less than 10% that go unspanked and usually
parented without punishment as a primary parenting tool.

The Maurer study found that 98% of college freshmen were spanked and
95% of professional were spanked. Somehow, the "never-spanked" (like
you) are under-represented in these groups! ;-)
