Default TTC right after loss (m/c ment)?

Hello,

I had a natural miscarriage last Sunday at 9 weeks (but baby was 6w1d).
It appears I am pretty much over the bleeding as of this weekend. I
am getting a check-up by my gyn in three days. We are doing ok
emotionally - for some reason, I had felt something wasn't "right" for
two weeks, so wasn't entirely surprised, which in a strange way helped
with coping a bit.

I want to try again right away, as does my husband. My question is my
husband is going through a potential of multiple X-rays and MRIs for a
problematic shoulder. Will this affect his sperm significantly? Does
it make sense to wait a bit? It seems from all I've read it should not
affect it long-term, but it's hard to find info on short-term effects.

This is my only m/c and I have a 19 month old. My dr. stressed waiting
2 cycles for dating purposes. When prodded, he said that the lining
should not be affected should I get pregnant right away.

Any thoughts appreciated.

D

I certainly don't know a lot about this area, but
animal studies don't seem very reassuring to me. Personally,
I'd probably feel a lot more comfortable waiting a while
after his last exposure. Still, if I were you, I'd discuss
this with an expert in radiology to find out the best and
latest information on the effects of x-rays or MRI on
spermatogenesis. Maybe an expert could convince you that
the risks are minimal, and I'm sure some of the answer
would depend on exactly what sorts of studies he'd
be having done and what sorts of exposure he'd be encountering.

Best wishes,
Ericka
