How are all the almost-almost-theres? Knee-deep in childbirth
classes? Waking up a zillion times at night, have to pee more often?
Take some video of those alien-baby-earthquake kicks and tumbles, if you
can catch them. Any belly hiccups? Those are the best. How's life
generally treating you these days? Updates, vents, rants, complaints,
mushy sentimental gushings, we love it all.

Almost there, tired all the time, back aches, pelvis aches and now starting today this tingly
electric type breast pain. Suppose I'll be leaking soon. Lots of good kicks. Can't wait to get
this over with though.

I could almost be in the January due dates!! I only have 4 weeks left,
possibly less (I have a feeling he may come early but it might just be
wishful thinking:-)). I have been having the worst time sleeping at night.
I sleep better on the couch but I can't leave my 2 year old at night, she
sleeps in the room with me. I have also be waking up with horrible heart
burn lately. But otherwise been very healthy feeling! Crying at the drop
of the hat and everything like that:-) And also stressing out with how my
DD will do while I am in the hospital, in labor and when we first get home.
Planning as much one can with a natural labor:-)

This is my second, so I'm constantly feeling zings around my cervix
from his head (he's head down) which the midwife said happens because
all the ligaments were stretched before and the uterus hangs down
lower now. Great. When I get out of bed (which I do all night, lol),
I have to pause and let my body readjust everything before I try to
walk. When I do pause, walking is fine. If I forget, my back and
hips are sore. I refuse to sit in comfy couches because I can't get
out of them or even easily shift position, as I learned at a party on
New Year's Eve!

We just got down all the baby stuff and now I have to go through it
since we also made a lot of tie-dye new clothes. I washed everything
before I put it away but of course it has to now be washed again.

The baby's room has taken forever to paint -- I still need to do touch
up tonight and *then* we can move all the furniture back into place
and set up the crib. I'm torn between getting a mini-cosleeper and
just having the baby in bed with us. The cosleeper is nice because
spitup, diaper leaks, etc, all go onto a smaller sheet that's easy to
wash, whereas messes on our bed mean more laundry. Any other
cosleepers have ideas?

Carolyn

Maybe I should be glad my is not heads down.. she is transverse and is giving me pubic bone pain but
none of that electric cervix pain yet.. forgot about that..

i had to laugh at this bit ...it's funny 'cause it's true. In my case,
after that sit on the side of the bed I get up and literally topple from
one foot to the other to make my way to the bathroom. My heels are sore
alot of the time.
I am now 36w. My DH has only just tuned into the magnitude of the
situation.
Everything is ready except for the hospital bags..any my mental state.
Getting up every 1.5-2 hours a night and maternity leave starts this
friday. Contemplating the financial change is making my head spin.

other than that, i'm over the big-ness, the heat and the fluid retention
and I'm looking forward to a comparatively normal body.

all the best to everyone else waiting for relief.

cheers,
Aprill

Yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one getting to the bathroom like this.

I just started to remember from last time to get up by rolling onto my
side and using my *arms* to push me up. No more of this whipping up
to a sitting position with side muscles.

I am now 36w. My DH has only just tuned into the magnitude of the
situation.

DH has been great. He pretty much sleeps like a log though. The only
trouble I have had is that either the baby, or sometimes DH, will wake
me about 5am. I toss and turn for another 2 hours before its time to
get up and don't feel well rested. When I would have my 3:30am-4am
awakenings I could easily fall asleep again.

Same for me... but this started at 24 weeks this time..

My baby is in a transverse position and that makes the pubic bone
pain really bad.. I'm at 32 weeks now..

That sounds tough. Have you tried pelvic rocks or hanging out all
fours when reading or watching TV? I don't know if that helps though
with transverse babies.

Heh. DH is blissed out and periodically mentions, 'We're going to
have a *baby*' which always makes me want to hug him.

Everything is ready except for the hospital bags..any my mental state.

I have been stockpiling food and gatorade. I figure the last thing
I want is to eat a bunch of cups of jello when I could have rice
crispie treats and other foods I prefer that are still 'light foods',
plus I like gatorade so just in case I have, um, 4 liters or so...

Getting up every 1.5-2 hours a night and maternity leave starts this

That's great (well, about maternity leave, not the constant getting
up!). I'm working until the end of this month when I'll be 38 weeks.
It will be nice to have my body back, at least sort of back, since
I'll be nursing and pumping and all.

Carolyn
