Custody Mediation Report

I have a question - is it typical of child to lie in a mediation about
relationship with a step parent? Example indicating that he
absolutely does not like being around the step mother. When in fact,
he enjoys time with her and constantly is seeking out her attention.
Not sure how to deal with this.

It's possible he knows it would hurt his mother if she knew he liked the
step-mother.
