just read this
http://www.aafp.org/afp/981015ap/vandenbo.html which I think you may have posted, Ericka, but maybe not, it seemed very matter of fact, this is what you should do, rather than these are the options, but whatever I see no reason for U/S in two weeks time, at least not for growth reasons, right now I can see two other reasons, i) to check my right kidney and ureter, which given the pain it's been giving me today might not be stupid ii) to check cervical length, I thought things had got better random contractionwise, but I've had quite a few whoppers over the past few days, mostly infrequent, so not abnormal just annoying, but if they get any more frequent I'll be much more relaxed if I am reassured my cervix is nice and long. What Ericka said! Thanks, Ericka.

Now, before you (or someone else) jumps : all over me, I didn't say you shouldn't have done it in this : case. When the cause is warranted, then you should definately : do it. I just don't think they have any routine value, and : should only be done for cause, as in Bob's case. : : so Larry, what's your opinion on ultrasound to check the growth of the baby, : I may have had IUGR last pregnancy, baby was 5lb 13oz and I now seem to be : measuring small, still not really showing at 24 weeks in pregnancy #2. I'm : trying to decide whether to accept an ultrasound or not if it is offered at : my next appointment. They may of course want to do one anyway to check my : kidney, so it may be an irrelevant question, I just want to be prepared. : Anne |

"Larry McMahan" wrote in message ... PS: Did you know that definately become defiantly if you transpose the a and n, and omit the e? Proofreadign is such an art. :-) Ah, yes, but definately should be spelled "definitely". But definately/defiantly is funny, nevertheless! -- Joy Rose 1-30-99 Iris 2-28-01 Spencer 3-12-03 # 4 Oct 2005 |
