A gift from Kane by
Kane
As I go about my work I'm struck by the things that turn up when one
digs deeply enough.
One of the themes I've been watching for a number of years now is the
constant relentless attempt to preempt the citizens.
This preemption is, apparently, the goal, the strategy of the...

Is this racist? by
Wendy Marsden
I'm driving behind a white GMC Jimmy SUV and it has exactly one bumper
sticker on it that says, "I hunt black and tans". I'm looking at this
with my mouth open thinking they MUST be talking about dogs, they
can't really be talking about lynching, can they? I look closer to see if
there's a tiny...

orthodontic ones), do you put them in the dishwasher? I just noticed that
the package says not to. I had already done so, and though they're lighter
in color, they seem fine. I used to put the avent ones in all the...

Britax Roundabout car seats are legal in Canada by
Elizabeth A
Hi,
I've seen several recent newsgroup postings stating that the Britax
Roundabout car seat is not approved in Canada. However, it looks like
it is, according to this advisory on the government's web site:
http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/childsafe/notiavis/dser/d200304/d200304e.htm
Sure, it's...

I am livid with my mother!
Some of you kind of know a little of the background with my mom.
For those who do not... Please don't think that I am being an ass. My mom is
a terrible person, and that is putting it nicely. But, I still think we
should have some kind of working...

Solids; 4 months vs 6? by
Laurie
(this was also posted to mkb)
Just to preface this, I have absolutely NO desire to start Christopher on
solids at anytime in the near future. He certainly isn't showing any signs
of readiness, and the thought of him even being close to old enough bums me
out!~ :) He'll be 4 months old next...

Positive Parenting Moment by
Chookie
DS (29mo) has to either hold my hand or be carried through parking areas, but
has resented hand-holding for quite a long time. I have dragged him or picked
him up when necessary, and always explained that "we hold hands in parking
areas", but wasn't really getting anywhere with it.

Letter to congressman regarding CDC vaccination policies by

I recently have been doing some reading on the issue of how
vaccination polices are developed. What I found really bothered me,
so I decided to write my congressman expressing my desire for reform
in the system. If any of you have similar feelings, I would urge you
to do the same. I think it's...

will discuss with us the introduction of solids at our next visit (september
30th). 4 month visit.
What I am wanting to know is how many of you make your own...
