Default 1st prenatal visit

It went well. We have only one baby in there, from the looks of it.
Yay! I'm intrigued about carrying twins or triplets, but just as glad
not to have to experience it. Nice healthy 10 week baby -- you could
the distinct head already, and the arm and leg buds.

I let my Ob/Gyn know it was a surrogacy, and he didn't blink. Also
good. I get a bit grumpy about changing Drs due to changes in health
insurance; I'm sure I would've been a little upset if I had to do it
because he had personal issues with the manner of this pregnancy.

Overall, everything looks well.

Sounds like things are going great, Kerry! If it isn't too personal, are you
a surrogate for a family member/friend or for someone else? What a great
thing to do--sounds like you are doing a good job with it too :-)

I started looking into doing a surrogacy when Miles was about 2 months
old, and found a good set of IPs not long afterward. We had to wait
until my cycles resumed, in January, to have potentially successful
insemming and managed to catch the egg in late July. (Truly ideal
conditions that time. Would've been very surprised _not_ to have
caught pregnant then.) They didn't start out as friends, per se, but
they've definitely become that by now, IMO. They don't live too
terribly far from me, which has been helpful in getting to know them.

Thanks for sharing about this. During my pregnancy, I have occasionally
briefly entertained the notion of surrogacy, since pregnancy seems to agree
with me so well so far. I'm sure it is a complicated choice, but what a gift
to that family!
