Pregnancy Crazies
I'm 22 years old, I don't cook, and I clean only when my apartment
starts to get a bit scary. I sleep in on my days off. Sunday morning, I woke up at 7 am with an urge to clean and bake. I actually got out of bed to go to the grocery store. I feel like I've been crazy ever since. I'm not concerned about how "normal" this is, I'm enjoying it.... but I am curious to hear what sorts of things women find themselves doing when they're pregnant. Anyone else feel a little crazy? |

Anyone else feel a little crazy? lol I'm 23, I have no choice but to try and cook or we all go hungry, and cleaning? Ha! I attempt to do that daily, as the house gets scary shortly after 2pm. I don't even know what sleep is anymore, and haven't for close to 7 years now... I get strange urges to do strange things... Like massive amounts of laundry, yard work and cleaning the bathroom. I hopped into the shower the other day, and while I was in there, I decided to clean the bath mat - both sides. I was on my hands and knees in the shower scrubbing and scrubbing the bath mat with Comet and the little brush. I think I did it because the cleaning supplies always smell so good to me When I was pg with DD (who is now 14 months) I had the same smelling problems. All these normally disgusting smells - I clearly remember WD-40, permanent markers and gas/diesel smelling so darn good - would just put me into a strange frenzy. I made 'air freshners' once with a piece of paper, colored it all with a permanent marker and then sprayed it with WD-40 and hung it in my car. DH nearly flipped his lid when the car had the 'horrible' (I thought good) smell of permanent markers and WD-40. He threw them all out. I also went crazy helping friends move on my EDD with DD. Went nuts that same day (4 days before she was born) cleaning my car out totally and completely, which is something I *never* do. The car, for the first time ever, was basically spotless inside - no toys, clothes, garbage, random papers, juice or pop bottles... I think while pregnant, at the end, I clean, clean, clean. Totally out of character for me, and yes, fairly crazy! |

I'm wondering how far along you are? When I was pregnant, I started waking in the early morning hours (like 4a.m.) to go to the bathroom, but then to clean. Like crazy scrib the sink with a tooshbrush cleaning... This started at about 36 weeks - and this is what is known in the animal kingdom as nesting... I think its hysterical that we - as human beings - nest just like a mama-dog would before she has a litter of pups - or a mama bird before she lays her eggs. Enjoy it! It's only the beginning... |

I had an ultrasound on Thursday and found out that I'm 15 weeks instead
of 19. SIGH! It's tough news to hear when I'm tossing my cookies almost daily. They should really psych you up for the possibility of the internal too. Alright, enough venting. I have heard of nesting later in pregnancy. I think it's very funny, and I hope it lasts because I've always wanted to be a tidy person. LOL to the sharpie-WD40 air freshener. |

wrote in message ps.com... snip LOL to the sharpie-WD40 air freshener. Ha! I'm seriously wondering what is up with that, and if it's normal... A girl friend of mine loves certain smells as well, but she's raving over her great smelling laundry detergent and apple-scented dish soap... Me, I'm wandering the cleaning supplies aisles in the Walmart smelling the 'gross' cleaners like Comet, Mr. Clean and Pine Sol :'( I did, however, pick up a big 20-pack (I think?) of Sharpies the other day, but I put them back and fought that urge. I might need to seek some Sniffers-Anonymous or something... |

I spoke with a friend who is due any day now. She told me she has
developed a thing for dirt. She craves the smell of really dry dirt, and kinda wants to eat it (although she won't). |
