Here is some information: http://www.drgreene.com/21_1062.html Yes, it is common. What I have done for my son is use massage baby oil into his scalp, and then several hours later I will use a very fine toothed comb to comb his hair. It usually flakes a lot of it off and I just repeat this a few times a week if necessary. |

BlankBrush baby oil on his head softly with an old toothbrush. Then shampoo, repeat till it's gone.
Only one of my 4 babies had it but it's pretty common. Sophie mom of 4 "Samantha" wrote in message ... Hi All Mom I have a 3 month old baby boy and he has severe cradle cap. What did you all do to solve the problem. Is it common? Please help Samantha |

BlankI used selsum blue at the recommendation of my ped. It worked in two washings. It did not irritate his skin but he smelled like a little old man :-) I didn't do any combing, just washed his hair as usual.

I am experiencing the same right now with Eva but she is almost 2 and just started developing it. My dr has me using Neutrogena t-gel but your baby is a little young for your little one.
I would try lotion on the head and/or baby oil. Good luck Kay Mommy to Eva 9/2002 one on way 1/2005 |

BlankTaylor had this as well, and in my experience, you had to physically
remove it, but once it was gone, it wouldn't come back. But it didn't just go away on it's own. I waited until Taylor was 6-8 months old, hoping it would dissappear on it's own. Eventually, I sat her in her high chair, and fed her cheerios while I dabbed olive oil on her head. Every 10 minutes or so, I'd run the comb through it, gently scraping the cradle cap "scabs" off. I did that for about an hour or so. Then I took her upstairs, and popped her in a warm bath. I used the warm water and continued to use the comb to get the stragglers. I shampooed her several times, and eventually it was basically all gone. Or more likely, she was "all done." I think I did that another time, about a month later, and it was completely gone, and never came back. -- Jamie & Taylor Earth Angel, 1/3/03 Check out Taylor Marlys -- www.MyFamily.com, User ID: Clarkguest1, Password: Guest Become a member for free - go to Add Member to set up your own User ID and Password Check out our Adoption Page at http://www.geocities.com/clarkadopt2004/ "Samantha" wrote in message ...
