10 YEAR OLD BOY ARRESTED FOR RAPING 7 YEAR OLD GIRL

SPRINGFIELD TWP. — A 10-year-old boy was arrested on a juvenile
delinquency charge of rape Wednesday, Clark County Sheriff's officials
said Thursday.

The boy is accused of having sex with his 7-year-old stepsister, said
Det. Jim Conley, Clark County Sheriff's Office.

"This is very, very unusual," he said. "To my knowledge, this is the
only case of this type that we've had in the last year or so."

Currently, the boy is in the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center,
Conley said. It is the News-Sun's policy not to publish the names of
minors accused of crimes.

Investigators allege that the incident occurred between Dec. 21 and Dec.
25 at the home where both children lived with the girl's mother.

Conley said he wasn't aware of any other case in which a child as young
as 10 was arrested on a charge of rape.

No one else has been charged in connection to the incident, he said.
